Two held in drug-related home invasion

Frederick Quinton Hackney

Two men are in custody for a drug-related home invasion that occurred November 16 on Monarch Lane.

Arrested were Frederick Quinton Hackney (B/M, DOB: 3/13/1980), of Martha Lane, Clarksville, charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery with a Bond of $25,000 and Possession for Resale  with a bond of $10,000; and Vincent Edward Quarles (B/M, DOB: 2/23/1977, of  Monarch Lane, charged with Possession for Resale with a bond of  $5,000. «Read the rest of this article»

CPD “Saturation patrols” yield results

The Clarksville Police Department’s saturation patrols (partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office) to detect DUI/Impaired drivers, November 7 and November 8, 2008 between 2200 hours and 0400 hours yielded the following results:

CPD seek suspect in Dover Road robbery

The Clarksville Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying the subject or the owner of the vehicle as seen in these photos. The CPD will appreciate assistance from area residents.

On November 11, at approximately 3:05 a.m., a suspect entered the BP gas station on Dover Road and asked for change. When the clerk opened the register, a white male, approximately 5″7″, 150 pounds, reached into his pocket, as if he had a gun  and told the clerk to “give him the money” he took the money and left the business. «Read the rest of this article»

CPD checkpoints yield results

The Clarksville Police Department’s Sobriety Checkpoint and saturation patrols (partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office) October 31 and November 1, 2008 between 2200 hours and 0400 hours yielded the following results:

Mother charged with child neglect, abuse after leaving three-year-old unattended

A Clarksville woman has been charged by Clarksville Police with child abuse and neglect, and filing a false report in connection with leaving her three-year-old child unattended.

On Monday, November 3,  Clarksville Police responded to a call of a child being left alone at 238 Oak Street. The officer arrived and found a three year old child alone on the front porch. Dui checkpoints: keeping our roadways safer

Halloween DUI checkpointAs trick or treaters wrapped their Halloween adventures early Friday evening, Clarksville Police revved up their sobriety checkpoints targeting older Halloween celebrants and other drivers as the month of October drew to a close Friday night.

The CPD and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department have run a number of such checkpoints and saturation patrols, aimed at reducing the number of impaired drivers, speeders and other in violation of driving laws.

As we move toward the gatherings and high traffic period of Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, we hope these effective checkpoints are not only continued but expanded. They only serve to make the streets of Clarksville and Montgomery County safer for everyone.

Clarksville Police urge Halloween safety

Clarksville Police Department’s officers will be out in abundance in an effort to ensure Trick-or-Treaters, as well as those celebrating the fall tradition of Halloween, have a safe and enjoyable time. There will be 30 additional officers on the streets patrolling through your neighborhoods and on the roadways around Clarksville on Halloween. We’ve listed some recommendations of things you can do to make Halloween safer for everyone.

Halloween should be a fun time for all involved. But, unfortunately it can also be a dangerous and deadly time due to impaired driving. According to the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration, there have been close 5,000 traffic fatalities during Halloween between 1996-2005. Forty-four percent of those fatalities involved a driver or a motorcycle rider with a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) of .08 or higher which is illegal in every state. «Read the rest of this article»

Saturation CPD patrols yield 66 charges

The Clarksville Police Department’s saturation patrols (partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office) October 24 and October 25 between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. yielded the following results:

There were 68 vehicles stopped which yielded 66 charges: 6 DUIs (driving Under the influence); 2 Implied Consent; 1  Failure to Use Reasonable Care; 23 Speeding; 8 Insurance Law; 1 Seat Belt; 9 Equipment Violations; 4 Driver License Violations; 1 Improper Turns; 2 Revoked/Suspended Driver Licenses; 1 Improper Passing; 3 Vehicle Registration; 2 Simple Possession; 1 Public Intoxication; 1 Weapon Charge and 1 Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
