New York, NY - Nashville Predators goaltender Marek Mazanec, who posted a 5-4-1 record with a 2.00 goals-against average, .932 save percentage and two shutouts in 11 appearances, has been named the NHL Rookie of the Month for November.
Mazanec edged New York Rangers left wing Chris Kreider (4-9—13 in 15 games), San Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl (5-5—10 in 13 games), Los Angeles Kings center Tyler Toffoli (4-5—9 in 13 games), Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon (4-5—9 in 14 games) and Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug (3-6—9 in 15 games) for the honor.

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators met the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center ice just a month ago on October 4th, as the Avs downed the Preds, 3-1.
Colorado took an early 2-0 lead on goals from P.A. Parenteau and Patrick Bordeleau, but the Preds cut the margin in half when Paul Gaustad tallied at 14:10 of the second period. The Preds kept the pressure on late in the game, but Parenteau’s empty-netter with 1:12 remaining secured the victory for the Avs.
Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Marek Mazanec (MAIR-ehk muh-ZAN-ehk) from the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and reassigned goaltender Magnus Hellberg (MAG-nuhs HEL-buhrg) to the Admirals.
Mazanec, 22 (7/18/91), is a perfect 5-0-0 in his first five starts in the American Hockey League with Milwaukee, and is one of three AHL netminders with a sub-2.00 goals-against average (1.97) and a save percentage north of .930 (.933).

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild last met at Bridgestone Arena on March 9th, 2013, in their final matchup of the 2012-13 campaign. Zach Parise opened the scoring for the Wild with a power-play goal nine minutes into the middle frame, before David Legwand tallied a power-play goal to even the score at the 6:28 mark of the third.
The score remained tied through regulation and overtime, before current Predator Matt Cullen beat Pekka Rinne in the post-overtime tiebreaker to take home the 2-1 win. Dating back to December 31st, 2010, the Predators are 7-1-2 against the Wild, and have won five of the last six on home ice against Minnesota dating back to March 18th, 2010.
Denver, CO - The Nashville Predators lost to the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 at the Pepsi Center tonight, but may have also lost a key player on the team.
