Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUCorpus Christi, TXDave Loos has a simply philosophy about basketball success on the road. “You have to take your defense, rebounding and free-throw shooting,” the longtime Austin Peay State University basketball coach says.

The Governors accomplished two of three Wednesday night in the American Bank Center against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi…but they failed miserably at the third.

The Governors come in 3-4 after defeating Samford, 74-73, Saturday.

APSU Governors Basketball faces five new non-conference opponents during 2015-16 schedule

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will play a 2015-16 basketball schedule that will touch multiple regions of the country, including 13 non-conference Division I games against teams representing nine different conferences.

That was announced Wednesday by Governors head coach Dave Loos.

101st Wings of Destiny Soldiers balance maintenance and restoring history at Fort Campbell

Fort Campbell, KY – Airframe structural repair specialists from Company B, 96th Aviation Support Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, have been restoring ailerons for a display airplane at the company’s hangar, here, for more than a month.

Ailerons are control surfaces that are attached by hinges to the trailing edge of an airplane’s wings and are used to maintain side-to-side stability during flight. On this aircraft, the ailerons are nearly as long as the wings.

Former Austin Peay State University star athlete, coach and athletic director George Fisher passes away

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – The man known as “Coach” to many and mentor to many others has passed away.

Dr. George Fisher, who was associated with the Austin Peay athletics program from 1946-77 as a star Austin Peay player, standout coach and later as athletics director, died Saturday night. He was 90 years old.

Born July 9th, 1924, the Greenbrier, TN native came to Austin Peay in the mid-1940s and really never left, being involved with APSU and APSU athletics literally for the rest of his life.

Fort Campbell’s 1st Brigade Combat Team Soldiers help Afghan troops train on D-30 Howitzer

Combat Outpost Monti, Afghanistan – U.S. Army soldiers from Security Forces Assistance and Advisory Team – 5, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, assisted in the training of the Afghan National Army on the D-30 Howitzers at Combat Outpost Monti, Afghanistan, January 18th.

The ANA soldiers, who represent the 2nd Brigade, 201st Kandak Corps, worked to develop crew drills and increase their ability to coordinate artillery fire in a variety of scenario and mission types utilizing the Soviet made 122mm howitzer.
