Austin Peay State University has 170 student-athletes named to Spring honor roll

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 313 student-athletes posted a 2.914 grade-point average during the recently completed Spring 2014 semester, the athletics department announced Wednesday.

The 2.914 cumulative GPA accumulated by the department’s student-athletes was the eighth-best mark in program history. It also is the fifth consecutive semester the group posted a 2.90 GPA or better.

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Sophomore guard Cory Arentsen has announced he is leaving the men’s basketball program.

The 6-5 Breese, IL, native indicated to head coach Dave Loos earlier this week he was looking for a situation that would offer him more playing time.

APSU Governors Basketball beats Montana State 78-72

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUMount Pleasant, MI – Chris Horton scored a career-high 23 points while fellow sophomore Zavion Williams came off the bench to add 21 to lift Austin Peay State University to a 78-72 win against Montana State, Saturday night, in the final game of Central Michigan tournament.

In completing the tournament 1-2, the Govs’ victory evened their mark at 3-3 while Montana State fell to 1-4.

APSU Governors Basketball bolster backcourt with signing of high-scoring St. Louis prep star

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksvillle, TN – Guard Josh Robinson, who was the second-leading scorer in the St. Louis Metro area in the 2012-13 season, has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball at Austin Peay State University.

The 6-3, 180-pound Robinson averaged 25.4 ppg as a junior for St. Mary’s High School, shooting 49 percent from the floor (234 of 477) and 33 percent (49 of 150) from three-point range.

Instant Peay Play: Zavion Williams ready to make Hometown return with APSU Governors Basketball

 

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – Zavion Williams made a name for himself three years ago by leading West Creek High School to its first state basketball tournament berth in the school’s short history, now he is ready to help lead the Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team back to the Ohio Valley Conference tournament and an NCAA tournament berth.
