APSU Women’s Golf breaks records in final round at Spring Break Shootout

APSU Women's GolfDade City, FL – All manner of records fell for Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf as the final round of the 2019 Spring Break Shootout came to a close, Tuesday, March 12th, 2019.

The Governors final-round 287 represented a program-record single round record, while the 872 overall score was the best 54-hole mark in program history.

APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s golf has an ambitious schedule, which includes a season-opening trip to the GolfWeek Program Challenge in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and a defense of their 2017 title at the Town and Country Invitational, highlights the APSU schedule laid out by head coach Amy McCollum.

McCollum anticipates an intriguing slate of competitions for a veteran squad in her first full year at the helm of the program.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s soccer team has added Melissa Fletcher, of Dade City, FL, to its 2012 recruiting class.

Fletcher joins Regan Colaner, a 5-3 midfielder/defender, and Nicole Filippone, a 5-4 goalkeeper, as part of the incoming 2012 class. Although the Lady Govs return the core of their team, head coach Kelley Guth is excited about the depth offered by Fletcher and the rest of the incoming group.

General Petraeus awards Silver Stars to Task Force No Slack Soldiers

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionBastogneKunar Province, Afghanistan – As the sun shone brightly, U.S. Army Gen. David H. Petraeus awarded two Silver Star Medals to Task Force No Slack Soldiers at Forward Operating Base Joyce in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar Province April 11th.

The Silver Star recipients, U.S. Army Capt. Edward B. Bankston, commander of Headquarters and Headquarters Company from Decatur, GA., and U.S. Army Sgt. Joshua L. Bostic, a squad leader from Spring City, Tennessee, assigned to Company C, both from 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, said the weather during Operation Strong Eagle III in Marawara District was anything but sunny.
