The Predators continued to have trouble scoring goals, with nothing to show for their efforts tonight. Nashville has lost six straight regulation games and is 1-7-2 in their last 10 matches.

Nashville Predators lose to Dallas Stars 5-2

Nashville, TN - The Nashville Predators lost to the Dallas Stars 5-2 on this Friday night in Smashville, where there was still a glimmer of hope that they could make the playoffs. Those hopes seemed to be dashed with tonight’s loss.
Dallas rookie Alex Chiasson scored two goals as Dallas won their fourth straight game keeping their improbable playoff hopes alive, Ray Whitney, Erik Cole and Tom Wandell let the scoring for the Stars who started the night 10th in the Western Conference, just three points behind the Detroit Red Wings.

Most recently on March 12th in Dallas, Pekka Rinne made 32 saves to record his league-leading fifth shutout of the season, Shea Weber and Gabriel Bourque scored power-play goals, and Rich Clune scored the eighth penalty-shot goal in franchise history on the 24th all-time attempt in a 4-0 Nashville win.

Nashville Predators assign forward Joonas Rask to Milwaukee Admirals

Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has assigned forward Joonas Rask (YOH-nuhs RASK) to Milwaukee Admirals (AHL). Rask recently completed his fifth season in the Finnish Elite League with Jokerit.

Nashville has dropped their last four games and tonight’s loss puts a damper on their slim play-off hopes. The Predators are five points out of the play-offs, trailing the Detroit Red Wings, and only have seven games to try to make a surge.

The two teams hook up for their second matinee game this season. The last time the Predators made the trip to Denver for a game it was Presidents Day. Two early goals were too much to overcome for the Predators, as Nashville fell for the first time in 10 games dating back to January 22nd, 2010.

Nashville Predators visit Vancouver Canucks

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators are fresh off their 4-0 shut-out of the Dallas Stars as they enter game two of their five game road trip, with a visit to the Vancouver Canucks. Face-off is at 9:00pm CT at Rogers Arena.
The Predators improved to 10-1-4 when scoring more than one goal and 5-0-0 in Tuesday games. Nick Spaling opened the scoring for Nashville with his fourth goal of the season . The Predators improved to 18-1-1 all time when he scores. Gabriel Bourque tied for the team lead with his seventh goal of the season, equaling his 43-game goals total from 2011-12.

Nashville Predators recall Chris Mueller from Milwaukee

Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled forward Chris Mueller from Milwaukee (AHL).
Mueller, 27 (3/6/86), leads the Admirals in goals (18), and is second on the club in points (36) in 2012-13. The West Seneca, NY, native has appeared in 19 games for the Predators dating back to the 2010-11 season, posting three assists.
