Martin, TN – UT Martin closed the game on a 10-3 run and pulled away from Austin Peay State University for a 67-61 verdict, Saturday night, in men’s Ohio Valley Conference action in the Elam Center.
The loss was APSU’s sixth straight and dropped it to 7-19 overall and 2-10 in the OVC. UT Martin improved to 16-9 overall and 8-4 in the OVC.

After the Governors victory, January 24th, they have come home to lose four straight and have fallen to 2-8 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Eastern Illinois, which entered that weekend unbeaten in the OVC, have gone 1-2 in league play since. But the 6-0 league start still has the Panthers solidly in third place in the OVC West.

Clarksville, TN – After collecting that elusive road victory, Austin Peay men’s basketball team will attempt to build momentum as it plays its next five games at home.
The Governors will play host to Morehead State, 7:00pm, Wednesday, in an important OVC contest for both clubs. The Govs enter the contest 2-4 in OVC play after claiming a 56-52 decision, Saturday, at Eastern Illinois.

Charleston, IL – With DeeDee Smith and the defense leading the way, Austin Peay State University rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to clip Eastern Illinois, 56-52, Saturday afternoon in Ohio Valley Conference play in Lantz Arena. It was APSU’s first 2014-15 road victory.
The victory snapped APSU’s two-game losing streak and improved it to 7-13 overall and 2-4 in the OVC.

Charleston, IL – Despite a 77-62 loss to Murray State, Thursday night, Eastern Illinois is without question the surprise of the Ohio Valley Conference this season.
The Panthers are 6-1 in the OVC and 12-7 overall, watching a nine-game winning streak snapped against the Racers. As a result, the Panthers slipped behind the unbeaten Racers in the OVC West Standings.

Edwardsville, IL – Austin Peay State University’s bench production has been an issue all season long but Thursday night it sunk to a new low.
Governors reserves managed just one point compared to 19 for SIU Edwardsville as the Cougars pulled away late for a 69-65 decision in Ohio Valley Conference action at the Vadalabene Center.
