Jacksonville, AL – Call it the second season…the new season…or the real season…but whatever the case Austin Peay men’s basketball will open Ohio Valley Conference play, 8:00pm, Thursday, when it faces Jacksonville State in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The Governors come in after an uneven 5-9 non-conference season.

Oxford, MS – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will have one last chance to secure a road victory before Ohio Valley Conference play begins, but to accomplish that feat the Govs will have to do it against one of the surprise teams of the Southeastern Conference so far this season.

The New Year’s Eve contest will be APSU’s final of 2014 and the Govs are seeking an uplift after a disappointing pre-Christmas finale at Lipscomb, a 69-63 road loss in a December 21st contest that saw them overcome an 11-point second-half deficit to tie the contest but only falter down the stretch.
Clarksville, TN – From the time his high school basketball playing days came to an end five years ago, Austin Peay men’s basketball point guard Jeremy Purvis has had to shown a persistence, determination and sometimes even patience to keep his playing career going; and this season has been no different.
Purvis, who played locally at Northeast High School, was starter and three-point shooting specialist for the Eagles in its two trips to the TSSAA State Tournament.

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team will attempt to take momentum into the Christmas holidays when it travels to Allen Arena, 2:00pm, Sunday, to face Lipscomb.
This will be the second time in eight days the two teams have met. A week ago Saturday the Bisons came to Clarksville and defeated the Govs, 69-58.

Clarksville, TN – Freshman guard Josh Robinson came off the bench to score 23 points, including seven three pointers, to lift Austin Peay State University to a 76-52 non-conference victory against Oakland City, Thursday night, in Dave Aaron Arena.
The victory was the Govs’ second straight and improved them to 4-7 on the season. Division II Oakland City, which came in at 7-1, recorded the contest as an exhibition.

Clarksville, TN – After nearly a month away from the Dunn Center, Austin Peay State University men;’s basketball team finally will return home when it faces Lipscomb, 4:00pm, Saturday, in Dave Aaron Arena.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay men’s basketball senior Chris Freeman has waited and worked over the past three years to get his time to show the potential that had him listed as one of the top-10 recruits out of the state of Kentucky and so far this season he has done that.
Coming into this season, Freeman had just four starts, averaging 3.9 points and 2.7 rebounds in just under 12 minutes of action per game.
