The 2-4 Governors opened the week, Sunday, with its season’s first victory, a 91-76 road decision against Northern Colorado, before coming home Wednesday to down Oakland City, 83-55.

The 0-3 Governors are amidst a busy first two weeks of the 2015-16 season. By Sunday’s end—and two games—the Govs will have played an NBA-like five games in nine days.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team faces a tall order literally and figuratively when it plays Vanderbilt, 7:00pm, Friday, in Memorial Gym to open the 2015-16 season.
The contest represents the first game of the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Vanderbilt eventually will end up in Maui for its final three games while APSU, after playing at Indiana, Monday, heads to Greeley, CO, to play its final two games.

Clarksville, TN – The 2015 Governors Basketball Bash is just two weeks away.
The annual event is scheduled for Friday, October 30th, at the Bud Barn on the Charles Hand Farm. Cocktails will be served beginning at 6:00pm, followed by the 6:45pm dinner and program, including an APSU basketball trivia contest. Cindy McElroy and the Beagles also will be performing that night.
Tickets for the annual Austin Peay basketball fundraiser are $40.00 each.

Clarksville, TN – For the first time since the 2011-12 season, Austin Peay State University finds itself continuing on into the postseason, where the seventh-seeded Lady Govs will square off against second-seed SIU Edwardsville, 2:00pm, Wednesday, in the opening round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament at Municipal Auditorium in Nashville.

Cape Girardeau, MO – Austin Peay will close out the 2014-15 season when it travels to Southeast Missouri for a 6:00pm, Saturday, Ohio Valley Conference contest at the Show Me Center.
The contest will have little on the line for both teams. The Governors were eliminated from the OVC tourney race a week ago and SEMO earned the final spot in the OVC tournament, Thursday, without even playing.
