Clarksville’s Mayor Kim McMillan Re-elected; November 4th Election Results

 

Election 2014Clarksville, TN – Across Tennessee yesterday, the voters went to the polls to select their representatives for a variety of Federal, State, and Local offices. In Montgomery County voters cast ballots for the Tennessee Governor, U.S. Senator, a Congressman , three Tennessee House seats, the Clarksville City Mayor, and half of the city council seats. Voters also cast ballots on 4 seperate Amendments to the Tennessee Constitution, and a local referendum on allowing retail food stores to offer sell wine in Clarksville; all were approved. Voter turnout was exceptionally low with just 8.09% of the voters choosing to cast ballots in Montgomery county.

In a hard-fought race to become the next Mayor of the city of Clarksville, current Mayor Kim McMillan was reelected with 46.47% of the vote. Challengers Bill Summers and Jeff Burkart split 53.45% of the vote.

Ward 2 Clarksville City Councilman Deanna McLaughlin seeks re-election

 

Election 2014Clarksville, TN – Ward 2 Clarksville City Councilman Deanna McLaughlin officially launched her campaign for re-election after qualifying for re-election on May 28th.

McLaughlin has represented Ward 2 on the Clarksville City Council since 2007 and was re-elected to a second term in 2010. Ward 2 was redistricted in 2011 and now extends to neighborhoods to the east and west of Fort Campbell Boulevard (US 41A), neighborhoods between Saratoga and Hillsboro roads and between Cunningham Lane and Dover Road (US 79).

Clarksville City Council Regular Session Report for July 1st, 2014

 

Clarksville City Council - Ward 10Clarksville, TN – Due to the upcoming 4th of July weekend, the city council moved its regular voting session to July 1st. It was an interesting evening.

Ordinance 7 – 2014-15 (Homeless Shelter Distance)

This ordinance proposed to shrink the distance that a homeless shelter could be located from residential properties. Currently, the distance requirement is 1000 feet. Tennessee Department of Transportation announces Pedestrian Safety Project in Clarksville

 

Tennessee Department of TransportationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) has announced plans to install signalized crosswalks at five intersections along State Route 12 (Ashland City Highway)/US 41A (Fort Campbell Boulevard).
