Nashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments and arrested a Dickson County man, the second to be implicated in connection to a 17-year-old homicide case.
At the request of former 23rd District Attorney General Dan Alsobrooks, TBI Agents began investigating the death of Eric Baxter on August 20th, 1998, the same day authorities discovered the body of the 32-year-old Dickson man shot multiple times in his Jones Creek Road home.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation case brings Attempted Murder Charge for Man who Fired Shots at Cheatham County Sheriff’s Deputy
Nashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have charged a man accused of firing a gun during an encounter with a sheriff’s deputy who was attempting to stop him for speeding.
At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI Special Agents began investigating an incident involving Nelson Yojeni Ochoa-Puentes early Monday morning. The investigation revealed Ochoa-Puentes led a Cheatham County deputy on a pursuit through a rural part of Cheatham and Dickson Counties.
Two Other Men Face Charges Related to that Homicide Investigation
Nashville, TN – A joint investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and investigators with the Dickson Police Department has resulted in the indictment of a Dickson man who is charged in a double homicide. Additionally, two other Dickson men have been indicted on charges of fabricating evidence related to that crime.
At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Ray Crouch, TBI Special Agents, working with officers with the Dickson Police Department, began investigating the death of two individuals whose bodies were found in a duplex fire on April 14th on McFarland Lane in Dickson.
Nashville, TN – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Dickson man accused of soliciting a crime victim’s father and offering to murder his child’s killer.
On Monday, while conducting the investigation into last week’s double homicide in Dickson, TBI Agents received information that Jamey Earl Donegan had approached the family of one of the homicide victims and offered himself for hire to murder their child’s killer in exchange for money.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Springfield man accused of passing worthless checks to buy a boat.
At the request of 23rd District Attorney General Dan Alsobrooks, TBI Special Agents began investigating Jimmy Scott Chambers on July 7th.
During the course of the investigation, Agents developed information that, on March 29th, Chambers purchased a boat and other equipment and services from C&O Marine in White Bluff, valued at approximately $70,000.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation today charged a Dickson, Tennessee man responsible for the death of an 18-month-old girl after he dropped her off deceased to her mother’s aunt’s home this morning stating he had fallen on her.
Edward Benesch, 26, of 620 Rocky Drive, was charged with one count of reckless homicide and one count of child abuse for the death of 18-month-old Somara Smith.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation arrested and charged a Dickson County man for murdering his wife.
TBI arrested 23-year-old Morris Long tonight when he was discharged from Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was charged with first degree murder for the death of his wife 21-year-old Ashlee Long. On December 22nd, 2012, Ashlee Long’s mother and stepfather discovered her beaten to death in her bed at her residence located at 106 Bishop Lane in Burns, TN.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged a Dickson County man with criminal homicide for the April 1st, 2011 murder of a 79-year-old woman in her home in Dickson, Tennessee.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has captured the latest addition to the TBI Top Ten Most Wanted list after he called the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office indicating he wanted to turn himself into authorities. The TBI and Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office placed him in custody at the court square in Ashland City, TN late yesterday.
Dayton Keith Scarbrough, 42, of Ashland City, TN was wanted on four counts of aggravated assault and four counts of civil rights intimidation after the TBI obtained arrest warrants for him, two other men and one juvenile for an incident that occurred in the aftermath of the May 2010 flooding in Middle Tennessee. On May 3rd, 2010, a married couple, a black male and white female, was assisting two stranded motorists on Petway Road when a truck occupied by several white males drove by at a high rate of speed.
Scarbrough stopped and threatened and made racist comments toward them. A second incident ensued at Grumpy’s Market later that day and Scarbrough and the three others assaulted the four victims. Scarbrough was added to the state’s Most Wanted list after the other suspects were arrested and he eluded police.
Scarbrough is being held in the Dickson County Jail.
