Draughons Junior College hosting Fall Festival, Vendors needed for Dec. Craft Fair

draughonsDraughons Junior College will be hosting it’s forth annual Fall Festival on Friday October 30th from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Activities include:  Safe trick or treating, mad scientist lab, haunted house, spooky story time, finger printing, refreshments, costume and pumpkin decorating contest.  The first 300 children will receive a hard backed book and pumpkin to take home with them.  This event is sponsored by:  Clarksville Police Department, Verizon, Cheeseburger Charley’s, Governor’s Square Mall, L & L Pizza, Guadalajara Mexican Grill, Beach Oil Company, TN National Guard, Ace Pipe & Supply, Dairy Queen, Food Lion, Clarksville Chamber of Commerce and Planet Smoothie. «Read the rest of this article»

Draughons Junior College hosts second career fair

draughonsDraughons Junior College in Clarksville hosted their annual career fair on June 5th. The event brings local agencies and employers together with hundreds of  people who are actively seeking employment.

Some like Barbara Lucas had been looking for work (in the legal field) for over 6 months. She is currently considering returning to school. Jonathan Ligon said he was laid off 5 months ago, since then he has been unsuccessfully looking for work as a welder.  Beverly Cossingham unemployed for five months, is looking for an administrative or clerical positions. However, Katie Nolan probably summed it up best.  “I am looking for anything at this point, anything”, she said.

Draughons Junior College hosting “Hot Jobs in the City” career fair

draughonsDraughons Junior College in Clarksville will be hosting “Hot Jobs in the City”, a Community Career Fair on Friday June 5th from 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Refreshments will be served! Q108 and The Beaver 100.3 FM, will be hosting a live remote from 11a.m. – 1p.m with  door prizes being given away every 10 minutes.

The last four career fairs they have held have been a huge success with over 300 people in attendance.

Draughons Junior College to hold yard sale for Salvation Army

The Salvation Army LogoIn honor of National Salvation Army week. On Saturday May 16, 2009 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Draughons Junior College (1860 Wilma Rudolph Blvd) the Community Outreach Club at Draughons Junior College and Campbell Yard Sales will be hosting a community wide yard sale to raise money for the Salvation Army. There is a $10 registration fee required for anyone setting up a table, 100% of  which will be donated to the Salvation Army.  If you are interested in having a table, or need more information contact Yasmine Carrion at 931-552-7600 or visit  the Campbell Yard Sales web site.

Community Awareness Day: organizations unite to stop the violence

“A Community United to Stop the Violence,” a community awareness day, will be held October 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Draughon’s Junior College, 1860 Wilma Rudolph Boulevard. The event, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit, Draughons Junior College, Charter Communications ® and Centerstone.

Complimentary food and drinks will be offered while supplies last, and the event will feature children’s activities, finger printing, games, air evac helicopter, fire trucks, law enforcement vehicles, ambulance, crime scene unit, bomb squad, K-9 team, tactical team, explorers, Clothes Line Project, wood work shop, handprint project and the Charter Internet trailer.

Door Prizes will be given out at the event and you must be present to win. Grand Prize giveaway will be two sets of Suite Tickets to the December 7th Carrie Underwood Concert. Many other terrific prizes will be given out during the Even
