 Fort Campbell, KY – Soldiers from 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) reunited with their Families at a welcome home ceremony at Fort Campbell, KY, May 22nd, 2013.
The Ceremony marked the end of a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Regional Command – East. This ceremony marks the return of the entire brigade.

Soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade and 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division Return Home
Fort Campbell, KY – On Saturday May 18th, a welcome home ceremony was held for returning Soldiers from both the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade “Wings of Destiny,” and the 3rd Brigade Combat Team “Rakkasans,” 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), at Fort Campbell, KY, at 5:15pm.
Approximately 340 Soldiers were recognized for the completion of their deployment to Afghanistan.

Fort Campbell, KY – Approximately 250 Soldiers from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), arrived at Fort Campbell, KY, May 14th, 2013.
Soldiers were reunited with their families after the successful completion of a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Khowst Province, Afghanistan – The AH-64 Apache helicopter is one of the most feared aircraft in the skies over Afghanistan. The Apache was designed as an anti-armor attack helicopter that was to replace AH-1 Cobra. It first saw service in April 1986 and still supports Soldiers on the ground 27 years later.
The Apache is an amazing machine and extremely capable in a close air support role. The Apache, as amazing as it is, needs Soldiers to get it into the air and keep it there covering the ground operations in Afghanistan.

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan –A soldier profile on Sgt. Lydia Johnston, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment medic serving at Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Sgt. Lydia Johnston, a medic with Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, knows what it is to give care under fire. The difference is that she was doing it before she even came into the Army.
Johnston, a native of Greenville, CA, was an emergency medical technician prior to her joining the Army. Getting EMT training was part of getting a degree.

Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan – The 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, Task Force Destiny, unit ministry teams came together for their bimonthly religious support team conference at the TF Destiny headquarters at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan, January 3rd.
The unit ministry teams reconfirmed their roles and responsibilities according to the Army regulations that govern chaplains and shared some of their experiences of ministering to the soldiers in their units.

Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan – Being a first sergeant is a labor of love. It is a lot of hard work and long hours, but the responsibility is a reward in, and of itself. The diamond of a first sergeant shows that the Army is entrusting soldiers to consistent and professional leadership.
For 2nd Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, Task Force Saber, at Forward Operating Base Fenty, Afghanistan, the first sergeants enjoy mentoring soldiers. These senior NCOs are personally invested in all their Soldiers.

Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan – Sgt. 1st Class Audra Wynn, A Company, 426th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade 101st Airborne Division truck master, and Master Sgt.
