Northeast High School EaglesServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN – Northeast High School had to hold off a late charge by the Kenwood High School Knights, Thursday, November 6th at the Dunn Center in the Montgomery County High School Basketball Jamboree, to come away with a 30-26 victory.

The Eagles led by double figures late in the opening quarter and still by as many as seven points, 24-17, with 2:23 left in their matchup, but would see the Knights close to as close as two points – with just under one minutes left in the scrimmage.

Kenwood High Knights Football pulls away in second half to defeat Northeast Eagles, awaits possible playoff berth

 

Kenwood High SchoolServall Termite & Pest ControlClarksville, TN - It took a while for the Kenwood High School football team to get its offense going, October 30th versus District 10-AAA opponent Northeast High School, but the Knights exploded for 26 second-half points to pull away from the Eagles, 40-7.

With the win, Kenwood (5-5, 4-3 District 10-AAA) all but guarantees itself a spot in the Tennessee State Secondary Athletic Association playoff field – which starts November 7th.

The Knights were only able to score one offensive touchdown versus Northeast (2-8, 2-5 District 10-AAA) in the first half, but scored on each of its first three drives after intermission to blow the game open.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – A balanced offensive attack helped Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team secure a three-set sweep (25-20, 27-25, 25-23) against Morehead State in Ohio Valley Conference action, Saturday, at the Dunn Center.

With the win, Austin Peay (10-10, 4-0 OVC) moved to .500 for the first time this season and remained atop the OVC standings after two weeks.

Clarksville High Wildcats football ends three-game slide, Northeast Eagles losing streak now at five

 

Clarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – After falling behind early Clarksville High School’s football team scored 17 straight points, Friday night, September 19th at Hilda J. Richardson Athletic Field, then held on to defeat Northeast High School in a District 10-AAA matchup, 17-12.

With the win, Clarksville High (2-3. 1-1 District 10-AAA) ends a three-game losing streak after opening the season with a win at Goodpasture High School, while Northeast High School dropped its fifth game in a row and falling to 0-2 in District 10-AAA play.

APSU Governors Basketball has Seven 20-win teams among 2014-15 opponents

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University 2014-15 Men’s basketball schedule will feature seven opponents that won 20 or more games a year ago.

The Governors’ slate will include 14 home regular-season games plus two exhibitions. That home calendar will see the Govs play North Florida for the first time, a 2:00pm New Year’s Eve contest.

APSU Lady Govs Volleyball picked fourth in OVC Preseason Poll

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBrentwood, TN – Senior outside hitter Jada Stotts was named to the preseason team and Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team was picked fourth in the Ohio Valley Conference’s preseason poll, Wednesday.

Stotts, of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, was named to the league’s preseason team for the second consecutive year.
