APSU FootballRichmond, KY – Trailing 24-7 in the third quarter, the Austin Peay State University football team rallied back with 24 unanswered points to down Eastern Kentucky 31-24, Saturday at Roy Kidd Stadium in Richmond, KY.

A heroic effort from both the offense and defense paced the relentless Governors, as their march towards an NCAA at-large playoff bid continues with the win.

The Governors secured the program’s first ever Sgt. York Trophy on Saturday with a 35-28 win at Tennessee Tech.

Kristen Stucker named APSU Athlete of the Month

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University volleyball’s junior setter Kristen Stucker has been named the Chick-Fil-A Austin Peay Student-Athlete of the Month.

A Johnston, Iowa native, Stucker won four adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Setter of the Week honors in September, leading the Govs to a 13-1 record in September and sole possession atop the OVC standings to begin October.

In posting 602 assists (11.36/set) for the month, Stucker spread the ball around to a host of teammates as Ashley Slay (200), Christina White (160), Brooke Moore (108), Kaylee Taff (90), Logan Carger (66) and Cecily Gable (54) each averaged better than a kill per set during the month.

APSU Athlete of the Week Kyran Moore

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Senior wide receiver and return specialist Kyran Moore, of the Austin Peay State University football team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.

Moore was named STATS FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against FBS No. 17 UCF, which included a 91-yard kick return for a score in the second quarter. The Bessemer, Alabama native also hauled in five catches for 130 yards and a touchdown, accumulating a 2017 Division I-best 363 all-purpose yards on the day.

APSU Volleyball set for Three Games this week

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference-leading Governors have another busy week in store with three contests on the schedule. First the Govs will close a three-match road trip with a 6:00pm, Wednesday nonconference contest at Middle Tennessee.

The Govs return to league play with a 7:00pm, Friday contest against UT Martin followed by a 2:00pm, Saturday match against Southeast Missouri.
