Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – Anyone that knows me knows that I’ve been involved with Austin Peay and Governors athletics for a long, long time – 1979 to be exact – and this past weekend at the Govs football game versus Eastern Kentucky a friendship that began back in the early 1980’s was resumed like no time had passed.

Scott Barker, from Kingston in east Tennessee, came to Austin Peay in 1982 to play football for then new head coach Emory Hale – who was hired after winning several state championships at Oak Ridge High School.

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – There haven’t been a lot of wins so far this fall for Austin Peay teams, but with Ohio Valley Conference contests right around the corner, don’t count out the Governors or Lady Govs just yet.

Overall win-loss records are important, without a question, but it’s the OVC games that mean more than the pre-season with berths into the postseason keyed on those contests.
