Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay opens its season’s longest homestand – a four-game tilt – with a 5:15pm, Saturday, Ohio Valley Conference contest against Murray State.
The Lady Govs return home seeking their first OVC win this season and hoping that the Dunn Center’s home cooking will provide the remedy to its recent woes.

Martin, TN – Senior Leslie Martinez finished with 20 points and nine rebounds but it wasn’t enough as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dropped an 84-57 Ohio Valley Conference decision to UT Martin, Monday night, at the Elam Center.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Basketball game against UT Martin has tipoff time change
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Basketball
Martin, TN - Tipoff for the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball contest at UT Martin, Monday, has been changed to 5:30pm at the Elam Center.
Originally scheduled for 7:00pm, the game was changed to avoid a scheduling conflict.
Austin Peay Governors Basketball’s bench scores 47 points to rally past the UT Martin Skyhawks, 85-67
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Basketball
Martin, TN – Austin Peay State University‘s bench combined for 47 points as the Governors defeated UT Martin, 85-67, Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference basketball action played at the Elam Center.
The victory improved the Governors to 11-19 overall and 7-8 in the OVC. The Governors entered the night needing either an Eastern Illinois loss or an APSU victory to qualify for their 28th straight OVC tournament. Although EIU’s loss at Morehead State earlier in the night allowed the Govs to qualify, the Govs coaching staff chose not to inform the players to make sure they maintained their focus.

Martin, TN – Senior guard Whitney Hanley scored 20 points for the 16th time this season but it was not enough as Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dropped an 86-62 decision to newly crowned Ohio Valley Conference champion UT Martin, Thursday night, at the Elam Center.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay enters the final weekend in a position it never saw coming.
In fact, the Governors need a win this weekend–or an Eastern Illinois loss–to assure its 28th straight appearance in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. The last time the Govs failed to appear in an OVC tourney? George Orwell’s favorite year…1984.
The Governors were picked to finish first in the OVC, but after losing center John Fraley in the season’s first game with a concussion for nine straight games, they never seemed to recover.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay begins the regular season’s final week when it travels to league leading UT Martin for a 5:30pm, Thursday contest. Both teams bring a win streak into the outing.
The Lady Govs own a modest two-game win streak after posting an 88-81 overtime victory against Morehead State, Saturday. The Skyhawks currently own an impressive 10-game win streak after posting wins at Murray State (91-67, February 16th) and at Southeast Missouri (77-44, February 18th) last week.
