Rossview Hawks Baseball beats Northeast Eagles 5-4 to earn spot in 10-AAA finals

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – A heads-up play by Rossview High School shortstop Blake Williams, to open the top of the seventh inning on May 6th, may have saved the Hawks from a possible ‘if game’ with Northeast High School and into the championship game of the District 10-AAA baseball tournament, as the Hawks edged the Eagles 5-4.

Rossview (22-11-1) led Northeast 5-3 heading into Northeast’s final at bat, but pinch hitter Axel Rivera ripped a sinking liner into left field in front of a hard-charging Lawson Moquin.

Northeast High Eagles Baseball rolls past Springfield Yellow Jackets 10-0 to open 10-AAA Tournament

 

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – Northeast High School’s baseball team scored in every inning, May 2nd at Rossview High School’s baseball field, to open play in the District 10-AAA tournament to defeat Springfield High School, 10-0 in five innings.

The Eagles (22-11-1), the third seed in the tournament, pounded out 10 hits and worked four walks against three Yellow Jackets pitchers, while Springfield (11-22-2) only managed three hits.

Northeast Eagles Baseball pull out a 5-4 Nine-Inning victory over Sycamore War Eagles

 

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – Senior Night for the Northeast Eagles baseball team ended in dramatic fashion. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Eric Webster scored the game-winning run off a ground ball hit by Landon Dennis for the Eagles. The Eagles defeated the Sycamore War Eagles 5-4.

Northeast’s Benji Burchwell (3-1) got the win. He pitched three innings. Matthew Heggie struck out five in six innings of work on the mound.

Rossview High Baseball delivers Northeast High it’s first 10-AAA loss

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s baseball team jumped out to a 5-1 lead after two innings, March 26th, on its way to handing the Northeast High School Eagles their first District 10-AAA loss of the season by a 10-5 final.

Trailing 1-0 after the first half inning of play, the Hawks (7-5, 3-1 District 10-AAA) tripled their scoring output from the March 24th 5-1 loss to the Eagles, by scoring three runs on three hits – while also being aided by a Northeast error.

Northeast High School Football opens season with 48-31 win over Centennial

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN - The Northeast Eagles opened up their 2013 football season with a convincing home victory over Centennial 48-31.

Although the Eagles ground game exploded for close to 500 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns on the night, it was the defense that set the tone early.

Northeast held the Cougars to 3 downs on their first possession, and on the ensuing punt, Northeast return man, Eric Webster, fumbled the punt and Centennial recovered at the Northeast 15 yard line.

Northeast High School Baseball has season come to an end with loss to Henry County

 

Northeast High School EaglesClarksville, TN – Northeast High School’s baseball team picked a bad day to have a bad game, as the Eagles saw their season come to an end, in the District 10-AAA Tournament Tuesday afternoon, with a 13-2 — five-inning — loss to the Henry County Patriots.

It was a struggle all the way around for Northeast, as the Eagles only scored two runs on four hits on offense, while four Eagle pitchers were tagged for 13 runs on 13 hits, while also walking seven and hitting four more.
