APSU Volleyball releases 2018 Schedule

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – In 100 days, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will open its 29-match regular-season schedule, which includes 10 home matches, head coach Taylor Mott released.

The Governors will open the 2018 season with an August 21st exhibition contest against Trevecca in Clarksville.

APSU Softball receives record Six OVC All-Conference selections

APSU SoftballOxford, AL – Austin Peay State University’s Morgan Rackel and Bailey Shorter took home two of the Ohio Valley Conference’s top honors for softball to lead APSU’s record six All-Conference selections, as announced at the OVC Championship Awards Banquet, Tuesday night.

APSU Women's BasketballEvansville, IN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team fell to SIU Edwardsville in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, Thursday.

The Govs came off a dominant performance against Murray State on senior night, but could not continue the offensive performance early against the Cougars.

Instant Peay Play: March Madness begins for Governors this week

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN Once again the Ohio Valley Conference will be one of the first NCAA Division I conferences to kick-off March Madness for its college basketball fans and the Austin Peay State University men’s and women’s basketball teams will be right in the thick of it when play opens.

Joining the Governors in the tournament will be Belmont, Tennessee Martin, Southern Illinois Edwardsville, Jacksonville State, Morehead State, Southeast Missouri and Murray State on the women’s side and Murray State, Belmont, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Eastern Illinois and SIUE on the men’s.

APSU Men’s Tennis beats Southern Indiana Friday for seasons first win

APSU Men's TennisEvansville, IN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team earned their first win of the season over Southern Indiana, Friday, at the Evansville Tennis Center.

The Govs (1-4) defeated the previously unbeaten Screaming Eagles (3-1) by a score of 6-3, with the match including the stipulation that all three doubles matches were treated as an individual point, instead of one single point.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Basketball must earn road wins for quality seed in OVC Tournament

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – With Austin Peay State University’s men’s basketball team entering the home stretch of its Ohio Valley Conference basketball season it is imperative they find a way to overcome a season-long difficulty of coming away with wins on the road if they are to get a favorable seed in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference Championship Tournament.

Currently the Govs, 12-10 overall, are tied for third place in the OVC standings with a win-loss mark of 7-3 – tied with Jacksonville State and Tennessee Tech – with eight games left in the regular season schedule.

APSU Governors Basketball falls in overtime to Evansville

APSU Men's BasketballEvansville, IN – A dominant performance from freshman Terry Taylor led to a late rally on the road forced to force overtime, but Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team simply ran out of time against Evansville, falling 78-74 to the Purple Aces at the Ford Center, Saturday.

Taylor had one of the best performances of a still-young Austin Peay career, pouring in a career-best 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting to lead all scorers.
