APSU Governors Basketball falls in overtime to Evansville

APSU Men's BasketballEvansville, IN – A dominant performance from freshman Terry Taylor led to a late rally on the road forced to force overtime, but Austin Peay State University men’s basketball team simply ran out of time against Evansville, falling 78-74 to the Purple Aces at the Ford Center, Saturday.

Taylor had one of the best performances of a still-young Austin Peay career, pouring in a career-best 30 points on 12-of-17 shooting to lead all scorers.

APSU Women's BasketballClarksville, TN – A backloaded nonconference schedule, a 15-game home slate and an 18-game marathon Ohio Valley Conference slate all highlight the 2017-18 Austin Peay State University women’s basketball schedule, released Monday.

Austin Peay opens its 2017-18 slate on the road with a November 11th contest in historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis to face Butler for the first time since 2004.

USS LST-325 arrives in Clarksville Wednesday, September 6th

 

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – The USS LST-325, 328-foot-long landing ship tank, will arrive in Clarksville on Wednesday, September 6th, 2017. The ship’s arrival in Clarksville is one of the many activities that are part of Visit Clarksville’s Welcome Home Veterans Celebration.

The LST-325 will be open for tours beginning at 9:00a.m. on Thursday, September 7th through 5:00pm Friday, September 15th. The LST will depart from Clarksville on Saturday, September 16th, 2017.

Clarksville Police release update on Fairview Lane Homicide

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department reports that with the assistance of numerous law enforcement agencies (Lyons County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky State Police (KSP), U.S Marshals of Evansville, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation), a homicide suspect was taken into custody around 2:00pm in Kuttawa, Kentucky.

The suspect, Quentin Bird, 21, of Clarksville abandoned his vehicle in Kuttawa and broke into a residence.

Clarksville Police discovered a deceased female in an apartment on Fairview Lane during a welfare check on April 19th, 2017.
