APSU Volleyball releases 2018 Schedule

APSU Women's VolleyballClarksville, TN – In 100 days, Austin Peay State University’s volleyball team will open its 29-match regular-season schedule, which includes 10 home matches, head coach Taylor Mott released.

The Governors will open the 2018 season with an August 21st exhibition contest against Trevecca in Clarksville.

Austin Peay State University Track and Field hosts APSU Invitational, Friday

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University track and field hosts the annual APSU Invitational, a one-day event scheduled for a 10:00am, Friday, start at Fortera Stadium.

With inclement weather scheduled for Saturday, the traditional two-day format was altered in order to expedite a full Friday of competition.

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team closes out its six-game road trip with a pair of midweek outings. The Governors first return to Nashville for a 6:00pm, Tuesday nonconference contest against Lipscomb at Dugan Field. Austin Peay then meets Murray State in a 6:00pm, Wednesday at Reagan Field in Murray, Kentucky.

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team will renew an old rivalry versus Tennessee Chattanooga, 5:00pm (CT), Wednesday at Frost Stadium, ending an eight-year hiatus in the series between the two in-state universities.

The Govs enter the matchup versus the Mocs with a 20-10 overall record this spring, after dropping a 3-2 decision on the road to Middle Tennessee on Monday.

APSU Men's GolfSevierville, TN – The momentum keeps building for Austin Peay State University men’s golf, which enjoyed a very good opening round of the sixth annual Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee Tech, at Sevierville Golf Club’s River Course.

The Govs are tied for second with Marshall at 290 after the opening round, three shots back of tournament-leading Eastern Kentucky.

Clarksville, TN – After picking up its first win of the Robbie Wilson era two weeks ago in Fort Lauderdale, Austin Peay State University men’s golf goes back to work in Sevierville, Tennessee this weekend—site of the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate, hosted by Tennessee Tech at Sevierville Golf Club. The rarely-seen collegiate three-day affair begins Sunday.

Austin Peay State University Softball advances to Hilltopper Spring Fling Tournament Championship game

APSU SoftballBowling Green, KY – Austin Peay’s softball team got outstanding pitching performances in both of their games, Saturday at the Western Kentucky Hilltopper Spring Fling Tournament, with the Governors defeating Dayton 3-0 and host Western Kentucky 6-1 to advance to the tournament’s championship game.

Kelly Mardones was stellar for Austin Peay (6-6) in the opener versus Dayton (4-11), holding the Flyers to just two hits and a walk, while striking out four.

APSU Softball falls to Evansville, gets Shutout win over Western Kentucky at Hilltopper Spring Fling Tournament

APSU SoftballBowling Green, KY – Morgan Rackel picked up her first NCAA Division I shutout, Friday afternoon at the WKU Softball Complex, as the Austin Peay State University’s softball team picked up a 5-0 victory over tournament host Western Kentucky, that followed an opening loss to Evansville that morning, 4-1.

Any shut is impressive, but Rackel (3-2) held a WKU team off the board, which came in averaging 7.5 runs per game and a .349 team batting average.

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN – With two wins to close the Central Arkansas Tournament, Austin Peay State University’s softball team looks to continue that momentum into this weekend, at the Western Kentucky University Hilltopper Spring Fling Tournament, as they push to get over the .500 mark.

The Governors (3-5) will open-up play in the tournament, 10:00am, Friday morning versus Evansville, followed by a 3:00pm afternoon contest against tournament host Western Kentucky.
