F&M Bank maintains market share top spot in Montgomery County and MSA

According to reports just issued by the FDIC, F&M Bank has maintained its number one ranking for total deposits in Montgomery County for the sixth year in a row. F&M increased its market share in Montgomery County to 19.52% of total deposits, an increase of .56% over last year. According to the 2009 FDIC reports of deposits through June 30, 2009, Regions Bank ranked number two with 13.43%, while Legends Bank held the number-three position with 12.26%. Other banks with double-digit market share in Montgomery County include First Federal with 12.17%, U.S. Bank with 11.49% and Bank of America with 11.15%.

F&M Bank also maintained its number one deposit ranking for the entire Clarksville-Hopkinsville Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which includes Stewart County, Tenn., and Trigg County, Ky. In 2009, F&M’s deposit market share rose to 13.74%, up from 13.65% in 2008. Planters ranks number two with 11.12% and Regions rose to 10.24%, taking the number three spot away from BB&T. Ragazza Pizza opens in South Clarksville

Ragazza Pizza is a brand new take out restaurant opening in south Clarksville on June 3rd. They specialize in “take and bake” pizzas and delicious pasta dishes. The restaurant is located at 1206 Highway 48, just south of the Clarksville city fairgrounds. Their hours are Monday through Thursday from 10:30a.m till 8:30p.m. Friday & Saturday from 10:30a.m. till 9:00p.m. Sundays from 12:00p.m till 7:00p.m.

The business is locally owned and operated by cousins Julie Rhoads and Maryellen Katz, which is appropriate because Ragazza means “girl” in Italian. The restaurant employees 12 people, many of them also female.

Kiwanis Lone Star Rodeo rides into town

Downtown Kiwanis Club and Lone Star Rodeo Tour bring two days of excitement to Fairgrounds Park.

This weekend brought two days of rodeo excitement to Clarksville at the Fairgrounds Park. Friday was the opening night and Wendy’s Restaurants sponsored it’s Kids Night at the Rodeo.

Glenn Childers, 2008 Downtown Kiwanis Club Chair, gave a brief rundown of this year’s rodeo, adding that the Kiwanis Club, with its 128 members, are proud that this was their 24th year bringing the rodeo to the Clarksville community. This rodeo was a very family-oriented and family-friendly happening, with the proceeds the Downtown Kiwanis Club raise dedicated to aid children and youth programs.

The pageantry of rodeo is colorful, dramatic, patriotic and exciting. Mark North, rodeo announcer, does an excellent job of informing the crowd of what is going on in the arena and encouraging everyone’s participation and appreciation for the athletes’ performances on display, both human and animal.
