New credit union branch first of its kind in Clarksville

August 17, 2009 | Print This Post

fcfulogoThe Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union has opened a new branch on Madison Street that introduces an entirely new way to do your banking in the Clarksville and Fort Campbell areas.

The dialogue branch at 2193 Madison Street is Fort Campbell Federal’s eighth branch and one of three of its kind to be completed by the Credit Union by the end of 2010.  A branch at Tiny Town and Heritage Pointe will open by the end of 2009 and a third branch in the Dover Crossing area is in the works.

With new technology and an open floor plan, Fort Campbell Federal will bring back the basics with a greeting at the door, fresh coffee and one on one service.  The Madison branch replaces traditional teller lines with circular towers where the member and credit union employee stand side by side to complete the transaction.  “Both parties will be able to view the same computer screen, which allows the entire process to be open, creating a true dialogue between credit union staff  and members”, says Stewart Ramsey, President and CEO of Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union.

fcfulogoCancer survivor and Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union employee Brenda Barnwell joined more than 40 credit union employees at Relay for Life on Friday to celebrate the more than $11,700 they raised for the American Cancer Society.

An employee of Fort Campbell Federal for 26 years, Brenda was diagnosed in 2007 with breast cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy that kept her away from work for 8 months.  “It was difficult, but I had lots of love from the credit union.”

Employees and members raised over $11,700 from April to June through employee-run events and member donations, many of which were made in Brenda’s honor.  “Our members are just the greatest,” Brenda says, smiling brightly.

Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union employees also raised over $21,000 for the United Way and $7,500 for the American Heart Association in 2008, much of that coming directly from employee donations.

“We have some of the most giving employees and with 2 new branches opening soon we look forward to continuing our tradition of community involvement.” says Stewart Ramsey, President and C.E.O. of Fort Campbell Federal.

With more than 35,000 members and 7 branches, Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union has a great history of serving the military and their families and now serves anyone who lives or works in Montgomery and Stewart counties in Tennessee and Christian, Trigg, and Todd counties in Kentucky.

Scholarship winner pays it forward

May 28, 2009 | Print This Post

fcfulogoNatalija Vnukovica knew early on that she wanted to work in finance and has been working towards her dream for the past two years at Austin Peay State University.  As with most university students, paying for school meant that Natalija had to split her time between working and studying, which inevitably took some of her focus away from school.   However, after receiving the Fort Campbell Federal Credit Union Scholarship for the 2008-2009 school year, Natalija was not only able to focus on her classes and maintain an A average, she gave back to the community by volunteering with the United Way.

“Since the scholarship allowed me to focus on school, I felt that since I was being given help I should give back to someone else.”  The 25 year old volunteered to do taxes through the United Way every Tuesday as well as becoming involved in the International Student Program on campus.
