APSU BaseballOxford, AL – Austin Peay State University baseball right fielder Chase Hamilton hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, tying APSU’s career home run record, but the Governors saw their season come to an end with a 6-1 loss to Belmont, Thursday night, in the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship at Choccolocco Park.

APSU Baseball’s Chase Hamilton hits two homers to help Govs beat Jacksonville State, 8-7

APSU BaseballOxford, AL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball right fielder Chase Hamilton hit two solo home runs, including a key eighth inning shot, to help the Governors hold on for an 8-7 victory against Jacksonville State in Game 5 of the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship, Wednesday morning, at Choccolocco Park.

The No. 7 seeded Governors stayed alive in the tournament and will face No. 3 seed Belmont in a scheduled 7:30pm elimination contest later today.

Austin Peay State University Baseball falls to Morehead State in OVC Tournament

APSU BaseballOxford, AL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball third baseman Alex Robles went 4-for-4 and left fielder Cayce Bredlau hit a game-tying home run, but the Governors could not halt a late Morehead State charge and fell, 9-4, in Game 4 of the Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship, Wednesday, at Choccolocco Park.

Austin Peay (27-29), the seventh seed, suffered its first loss in the tournament and now will face No. 4 seed Jacksonville State in a 9:00am, Thursday elimination contest.

APSU Baseball falls at home to Eastern Illinois, 7-4

APSU BaseballCharleston, IL – A ninth-inning rally came up just short as Austin Peay State University’s baseball team dropped its Ohio Valley Conference series opener, 7-4, to Eastern Illinois, Thursday afternoon at Coaches Stadium.

The second game of Thursday’s doubleheader was suspended due to darkness with the Governors holding a 9-6 lead and Eastern Illinois at the plate with one out in the 10th inning.

APSU Baseball surges back in the ninth to beat Lipscomb 14-11

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – In his final home at-bat, Austin Peay State University baseball third baseman Alex Robles hit a walk-off grand slam to complete a massive Governors comeback win, 14-11, against Lipscomb, Wednesday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park.

Austin Peay (22-25) faced a daunting 11-6 deficit entering its half of the ninth inning. The Govs began chipping away at that deficit as the first six batters reached base safely.
