Clarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Democratic Party gathered at the Smith Trahern mansion on December 11 to celebrate Christmas and to honor local volunteers and Montgomery County’s statesmen for their service.
State Senator Tim Barnes received a plaque noting his service to the party and to his Montgomery County constituency over the past four years. The party also recognized State Representatives Joe Pitts and John Tidwell who will both continue the elected offices.
Clarksville, TN – The campaign for the District 22 Tennessee State Senate between incumbent Democratic Senator Tim Barnes and Republican Dr. Mark Green has gotten dirty. In a direct mail flyer, paid for by the Tennessee Democratic Party and authorized by Senator Barnes, the flyer attacks Dr. Green and Gateway Medical Center.
On the front of the mailer, it has a picture of the Clarksville hospital in the background, with a picture of Green in the lower corner and reads, “This is Dr. Mark Green and this is where the hospital he helped run ranked in Tennessee” and shows the Consumer Reports logo with the headline, “The Lowest.”
The flyer refers to a Consumer Reports article that ranked Gateway Medical Center 37th in a survey of Tennessee hospitals for the quality of care given at it’s facility. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville, TN – On March 10th, 2012 the Montgomery County Democratic Party (MCDP) will hold their County Delegate Convention at 2050 Fort Campbell Boulevard, Clarksville, TN with the doors opening at 11:00am. The delegate voting process will begin at 12 noon.

Clarksville, TN – For as long as I can remember New Years Day has always been a time for reflection, resolutions and change. But as we usher in the 2012 New Year, quality of life changes are not the only things we all need to consider.
January 1st, 2012 also brought with it the installation of the new Tennessee Voter Photo ID Law. The new law requires all people to show a valid state or federal government-issued photo ID in order to vote at the polls.
Regardless of political party affiliation, without the proper photo ID, you won’t be able to vote for anyone during the election season this includes National, State or Local elections such as the President, school board, city council, congress or House of Representatives both federal and state levels, etc.

They will elect the Chairperson, Vice Chairperson(s), Secretary, Treasurer and the Executive Committee for Montgomery County and discuss the agenda for 2011. Brett Ramsey the Democratic Candidate for State House District 68, held a meet and greet dinner with Congressman John Tanner on Tuesday. Over 60 people were in attendance at the Highland Rim Kiwanis Club. In addition to Candidate Brett Ramsey and Congressman Tanner, the attendees had the chance to mingle with State Senator Tim Barnes, Clarksville Mayoral Candidate Kim McMillan, State House Representative Mike Stewart, former State Representative Tommy Head, Congressional candidate Greg Rabidoux, and local school board member Jim Mann.
A delicious BBQ dinner was provided by locally owned, The Pit Crew, located on Old Dover Road. The Pit Crew is owned and operated by Gene and Robert Lewis. While mingling, everyone was talking about the barbecue, hot sauce, and the hard work already done by Team Ramsey.
After the delicious meal, it was time for the speeches.
