Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Tournament Field Set

Brentwood, TN – The field for the men’s and women’s Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Tournament has been set.

Kenwood High School’s Maleek Hall signs with Tennessee Tech

Clarksville, TN – The Kenwood High School lobby was crowded with family and friends of Maleek Hall Wednesday morning, as he signed his letter of intent to play football for Tennessee Tech of the Ohio Valley Conference.
Hall had a superb senior season, rushing for 1506 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Cookeville, TN – Austin Peay State University‘s not-so-positive trademark has been slow starts during its recent losing streak. Saturday night represented its worst start of 2013.
Tennessee Tech jumped out to a 13-2 lead and never looked back as it rolled past the Governors, 70-52, in Ohio Valley Conference basketball action played at the Eblen Center.

Jacksonville, AL – Despite shooting 55 percent from the floor and out-rebounding its first Ohio Valley Conference opponent this season, Austin Peay State University lost for the fourth straight time when the Govs fell to Jacksonville State, 81-74, Thursday night in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The loss drops APSU to 5-16 overall and 1-6 in the OVC, remaining winless on the road. JSU, meanwhile, is 13-7 overall and 5-4 in the OVC.

22nd Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival set for January 19th and 20th

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be among organizations set to host the 2013 Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival to be held on January 19th-20th at the Hiwassee Refuge and in the community of Birchwood, TN. This will be the 22nd anniversary for the event which will run from 8:00am until 6:00pm each day.
The Tennessee Sandhill Crane Festival is a celebration of the thousands of sandhill cranes that migrate through or spend the winter on and around the Hiwassee Refuge in Birchwood. It is also an opportunity to focus attention on the rich wildlife heritage of the state and the Native American history of the area.
 The Sandhill Crane Festival will be held January 19th-20th at the Hiwassee Refuge and in the community of Birchwood. It is the 22nd anniversary of the event.
