Golden Pond, KY – Applications for the 2013 Quota Deer Hunts at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area may be submitted July 1st-31st, online at www.lbl.org or by phone at 270.924.2065.
The application fee is $5.00 online, or $7.00 by phone. After applying, applicants can check back in late-August to see if they were drawn.

Golden Pond, KY – Chores can be fun when done at The Homeplace!” Children’s Day on the Farm is Saturday, June 1st, at The Homeplace in Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.
From 1:00pm-4:00pm kids can do chores and earn tokens and credits to spend in the Children’s Day General Store on 1850’s type goodies. Homeplace admission is $5.00 ages 13 and up, $4.00 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.

Land Between the Lakes Golden Pond Planetarium brings back Lasers and Music

Golden Pond, KY – Back by popular demand! The Golden Pond Planetarium in Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will once again feature Laser Light Music Nights beginning May 24th, 2013.
Experience Laser Light Music Night shows every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday at 5:30pm and 7:00pm. Additional shows will be Saturdays at 8:00pm on June 1st and 29th, July 13th and 27th, and August 10th and 24th. All seats are $7.00.

Evening Programs Return to LBL’s Golden Pond Planetarium and Observatory

Golden Pond, KY – Take a trip to Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area to experience Planetarium shows and Star Parties presented by the Land Between The Lakes Association beginning May 25th, 2013, at the Golden Pond Planetarium located in the Golden Pond Visitor Center.
Starry Night programs begin with a stunning planetarium theater presentation in the 40-foot dome planetarium, then a live viewing of the night sky (weather permitting) through a 16-inch, Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope at the Golden Pond Observatory. Members of the West Kentucky Amateur Astronomers (WKAA) will also be hosting in depth Star Party astronomy programs.

Early Squirrel Season Opening at Land Between the Lakes

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area’s 2013 spring squirrel hunting season will open in Tennessee from May 11th-June 9th and in Kentucky from May 18th-June 21st.
Hunters must have a valid Kentucky or Tennessee state hunting license for the state in which they are hunting. Hunters age 16 and older must also have an LBL Hunter Use Permit. Land Between the Lakes to hold Turkey Bay Trails Spring Clean-Up Day

Golden Pond, KY – Spring has arrived and so has another volunteer clean-up day at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area! Join us Saturday, April 13th, and help clean up Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Area trails.
Participants ride free the day of the clean-up, and everyone is welcome to attend.
