Golden Pond, KY – April is Homeschooler’s Month across Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. We invite homeschooling families to use Land Between The Lakes as their outdoor classroom this spring. Pick up an “Explorers Passport” at Homeplace, Nature Station, or Golden Pond Planetarium.
Take the passport to each attraction and complete activities to earn an official Explorer Patch and Certificate.
Golden Pond, KY – Woodlands Nature Station, at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area, will host Girl Scout Day on March 28th, ongoing from 10:00am-3:00pm.
Events and information will be geared towards helping Girl Scouts of different levels work towards earning achievement awards. Come check out hands-on activities, informative booths, scavenger hunts, staff-led programs, and more.
Golden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area offers a variety of family-friendly programs for all ages at Woodlands Nature Station on weekdays during most of the spring breaks in the area.
Spring Break programs will be offered at 2:00pm, now through April 12th. Nature Station is open 10:00am-5:00pm Wednesday-Sunday, March and November and 7 days, April-October.
Golden Pond, KY – The deadline for Turkey Quota Hunt Permit applications at Land Between The Lakes is February 28th, 2015. Hunters may apply online, 24/7, at www.lblquotahunt.hometracker.com/ or by phone until 4:00pm February 27th.

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area invites the public to the 153rd Fort Henry Anniversary Program and Walk. Local history about the Civil War in the area will be presented on Saturday, February 7th, from 1:00pm-2:30pm at The Homeplace.

Golden Pond, KY - Turkey Quota Hunt applications for Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will be available February 1st-28th. Hunters may apply online at lblquotahunt.hometracker.com or by phone at 270.924.2065. Application fees are $5.00 online and $7.00 by phone.
Three quota hunts in both the Kentucky and Tennessee portions of Land Between The Lakes require prior application. Hunting is not permitted between these dates.
Golden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area offers public school districts within 100 miles an opportunity to receive an Educational Field Trip Grant for the 2015-2016 school year. Educators must apply by April 30th, 2015.
Educational Field Trip Grants assist schools in covering costs for transportation; facility admission fees at Woodlands Nature Station, The Homeplace, and Golden Pond Planetarium; program costs; and dorm rental at Brandon Spring Group Center during the 2015-2016 school year.
Golden Pond, KY - A public auction to reduce the size of Land Between The Lakes’ bison herds will be held on Saturday, January 31st, 2015.
The sale begins at 9:00am Central Standard Time at the Elk & Bison Prairie corral. Bidder registration, final sale list, and viewing begin at 8:00am. Bison purchases may be made with cash, credit card, or personal check at time of bid acceptance.

On Saturday, January 17th, spend time visiting some of the best birding spots across Land Between The Lakes.
Golden Pond, KY - Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will waive fees at the Elk & Bison Prairie and riding permits at Wranglers Campground on Monday, January 19th, in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The Forest Service participates in the fee waiver day along with the National Park Service, the Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Bureau of Land Management.
