Land Between The Lakes Facilities Re-open for 2013 Season

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area begins its 2013 operations on Friday, March 1st, by opening several popular visitor attractions.

The Homeplace, Woodlands Nature Station, and North and South Welcome Stations open their doors March 1st, along with Energy Lake, Hillman Ferry and Piney Campgrounds. Land Between the Lakes Quota Turkey Hunt Applications available Online February 1st-28th

Golden Pond, KY – Applications will be available online February 1st, for the first six hunting days of the 2013 Turkey Season at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area. Quota hunts not only provide unique recreational opportunities within the LBL region, they help maintain a healthy turkey population.

Land Between the Lakes Administrative Office and Golden Pond Visitor Center Holiday Schedule

Golden Pond, KY – The Golden Pond Visitor Center at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area will be open from 9:00am-3:00pm on Christmas Eve, Monday, December 24th, and remain closed on Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25th.

Land Between The Lakes Race to the Canal Returns October 21st

Golden Pond, KY – Race to the Canal will take place again this year at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area on Sunday, October 21st. This event provides cyclists the opportunity to enjoy an adrenaline rush in the great outdoors!

This mountain bike race is sponsored locally by Wood-N-Wave, Grand Rivers, KY, and sanctioned by USA Cycling (USAC). Race to the Canal is a point-to-point event that will cover challenging and varied terrain along the North/South Trail from Golden Pond Visitor Center to North Welcome Station. Land Between the Lakes Honors 19th Annual National Public Lands Day

Golden Pond, KY – Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area is waiving fees at participating day-use facilities on Saturday, September 29th, in honor of National Public Lands Day.

Land Between the Lakes Wranglers Campground to Host 16th Annual Grand Jubilee and Primitive Rodeo

Golden Pond, KY – Experience the heart-pounding excitement of an old-fashioned rodeo at the 16th Annual Grand Jubilee and Primitive Rodeo July 20th-21st at Wranglers Campground in Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area.

Bring the family to enjoy rodeo events, children’s activities, and festival foods.  Wranglers Campground is located 5 miles south of Golden Pond Visitor Center.
