APSU Men’s Golf sit in Ninth at Samford Intercollegiate

APSU Men's GolfBirmingham, AL – Freshman Chase Korte sits in ninth after the opening 36 holes of the Samford Intercollegiate at Greystone Golf and Country Club.

The Metropolis, Illinois native finished the opening two rounds with a two-over 146 (76-70), rolling in a team-high 24 pars to keep himself near the top of the leaderboard.

APSU Governors Football game against Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles selected for ESPN3

APSU FootballBrentwood, TN – The Saturday, November 4th football contest between Austin Peay State University and Tennessee Tech has been selected as the “Wildcard Selection” in the league’s Game of the Week football package on ESPN3.

The game will kickoff at 1:30pm CT at Tucker Stadium in Cookeville Tennessee.

2017 APSU Homecoming King and Queen Crowned

 

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 22nd Austin Peay State University announced the 2017 APSU Homecoming Court and crowned Homecoming King and Queen on Saturday, October 21st, 2017 during halftime at the Governors football game against Southeast Missouri at Fortera Stadium.

Amber James a Healthcare Management major was crowned Homecoming Queen. James, from Memphis Tennessee, was sponsored by the Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. She was escorted by her father Henry James.

Amber James was crowned APSU Homecoming Queen and Brandon Herbert was crowned King at the APSU Football game against Southeast Missouri, Saturday.

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Another week, another big win for the Austin Peay State University Governors football team, the same team that after ending the longest losing streak in the nation earlier this season has continued to build as one of the nation’s best turnarounds in the NCAA in 2017.

This past Saturday, October 21st, the Govs (5-3, 4-1 OVC) defeated Southeast Missouri, 38-31, at Fortera Stadium to not only pick up a homecoming victory for its fans and alumni, but its fifth victory of the season – marking just the fourth time by an APSU football team has reached at least five victories in a campaign since 1991.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf travels to Birmingham for Samford Intercollegiate

APSU Men's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf kicks off its penultimate fall tournament Monday in Birmingham, Alabama’s Greystone Golf and Country Club, site of the two-day Samford Intercollegiate.

The teams will play two rounds Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 9:00am, and a single round Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8:30am.

That was the last time the Governors won a Homecoming contest. Heavy emphasis on the “was” part of that phrase, as the Governors vanquished Southeast Missouri, 38-31, at Fortera Stadium, with a quick-strike offense that seemingly had the Redhawks number all night.

APSU Football hosts Southeast Missouri for Homecoming

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – Coming off a thrilling 21-17 victory over Tennessee State, the Austin Peay State University football team returns to action 4:00pm, Saturday, as the Govs welcome Southeast Missouri to Fortera Stadium for Homecoming.

The Governors walked away from Music City with a victory last week for just the second time in program history.

APSU Basketball Partners with Fort Campbell to host game against Bethel

APSU Men's BasketballClarksville, TN – As part of a historic partnership between Austin Peay State University and Fort Campbell, the men’s basketball game scheduled for November 22nd, 2017 against Bethel will take place at Shaw Fitness Center on the Fort Campbell military installation.

This will be the first-ever contest involving collegiate basketball programs at Fort Campbell, and the Governors first home contest away from the Dunn Center since it opened in 1975.
