2013 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship Field Set

 

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – The 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Championship field is now set. The event will be held May 22nd-26th at The Ballpark at Jackson (formerly Pringles Park) in Jackson, Tennessee.

This year marks the fourth year in a row the event will be held at the venue, which is home of the Jackson Generals, the AA-affiliate of the Seattle Mariners.

The Austin Peay Governors won 12 consecutive games to earn a second place finish in the OVC Regular Season Standings and a first round bye in the OVC Tournament.

APSU Governors Golf finishes tied for 7th at NCAA Regional, Dustin Korte advances to NCAA Championship

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsTempe, AZ – It was a bitter sweet day for Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, Saturday. The Governors failed to qualify for the NCAA Championships but senior Dustin Korte did.

Korte shot a final-round 1-under 69 for a three-day 6-under 204 to finish eight individually at the Tempe Division I Golf Regional. He earned the NCAA Championship invitation, May 28th-June 2nd at the Capital City Club/Crabapple Course in Atlanta, GA, by recording the best individual score exclusive of the five qualifying regional teams.

Austin Peay State University Baseball ends regular season with 16-5 win over SIU Edwardsville Cougars

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University’s baseball team defeated SIU Edwardsville 16-5, on May 18th at Raymond C. Hand Park, to sweep its three-game Ohio Valley Conference series versus the Cougars.

With the win, the 12th in a row to end the regular season, the Governors earn a second place finish in the OVC regular season standings – which gives Austin Peay a first-round bye in the OVC tournament in Jackson, TN.

APSU names Top Five Candidates for Athletic Director Position

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University has narrowed its search for a new athletics director down to five strong candidates, and the University will begin interviewing the first two candidates on campus next week.

APSU began looking for a new AD in April when Coach Dave Loos stepped down from that position after 16 successful years. Loos remains the head coach for the men’s basketball program.

Austin Peay State University Baseball picks up 11th straight win with 10-8 victory over SIU Edwardsville

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TNAustin Peay State University’s baseball team got out to a 7-1 lead after three innings May 17th versus SIU Edwardsville, but had to hold off the Cougars at the end for a 10-8 Ohio Valley Conference victory.

Austin Peay (41-13, 21-7 OVC) would get out to an early lead, just four batters into the game, on their fifth home run of the series to get out to a 2-0 lead.
