Nashville Zoo to hold Ghouls at Grassmere in October

 

Nashville ZooNashville, TN – Singing pumpkins, dancing witches and three tons of candy await you at Ford Motor Company Fund’s Ghouls at Grassmere. The Halloween celebration that transforms the Zoo into a magical destination for kids of all ages is set for a seven night run, October 17th – 19th and 23rd – 26th.

Ghouls at Grassmere offers a safe and exciting Halloween experience for families with kids under age 12. Come dressed in your favorite costume and enjoy favorites like Carnevil games, Scary-Go-Round rides, Haunted Hayrides, animal and magic shows and trick-or-treating along the Zoo animal trails.

American Heart Association launches CEO Roundtable To Significantly Shift The Culture Of Health In The Workplace

 

The American Heart Association CEO Roundtable launches with new survey showing American workers overestimate their health—leading to increased risk of heart disease and other serious illness

American Heart AssociationNew York, NY — Today, Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Heart Association (AHA), Henry Kravis, Co-CEO and Co-Chairman of KKR & Co. L.P., Terry Lundgren, Chairman and CEO of Macy’s, Inc., and 19 additional CEOs from some of America’s largest companies announced the formation of the American Heart Association CEO Roundtable. This groundbreaking initiative is designed to create a workplace culture in which healthy choices are the default choices. As part of the announcement, the AHA also released results from a new Nielsen online survey among 2,004 employees[1] showing that Americans overestimate their health—putting them at greater risk for heart disease and other serious illness.

Middle Tennessee Hiring Fair for Veterans this Week

 

Tennessee National GuardSmyrna, TN – A Hiring Fair will be held on February 14th, at Building 500, on the Smyrna Volunteer Training Site from 1:00pm-4:00pm and is open to all National Guard members, reservists, spouses, and veterans, announced Maj. Gen. Terry “Max” Haston, Tennessee’s Adjutant General.

“We’re all taught to look out for our buddies and hiring fairs are one way of doing that,” Haston said. “Some service members have returned from Iraq or Afghanistan to find the place where they worked no longer in business, and now they’re out looking. Fort Campbell hosts Spring Job Fairs

 

101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Fort Campbell’s Army Career and Alumni Program and the Army Community Service Family Employment Readiness Program held back to back jobs fairs, for soldiers, retirees, and their families which saw more than 119 international, national and local employers taking part. Over 4000 people took advantage of the two day event.

Maj. Gen James C. McConville appreciated the opportunity being presented to his soldiers, “Events like this give our well deserving 101st and Fort Campbell Soldiers the opportunity for a “Smooth Takeoff.” We have some of the best trained, disciplined and fit Soldiers in the 101st Airborne Division, and they will certainly contribute to our great nation after they leave the Army.”
