Freeze Watch issued for Clarksville Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a freeze watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as parts of Middle Tennessee which is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday morning.

After several days of mild temperatures a cold front is bringing colder temperatures to Middle Tennessee. Temperatures late Friday night and Saturday morning will be in the 20s with a hard freeze possible at many locations.

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting March 26th, 2015

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports Saturday March 28th, 7:00am-12:00noon, there will be rolling roadblocks on I-24 eastbound, between MM 4 and MM 8, and westbound, between MM 11 and MM 8, in order to move equipment and material across the interstate.

This is part of the bridge replacement project over Interstate 24 (Exit 8) on State Route 237.

Clarksville – Montgomery County under Flood Watch until Saturday morning

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as portions of Middle Tennessee until 5:00am Saturday morning, March 14th.

Recent episodes of snow and rain have left behind a saturated ground over much, if not all, of Middle Tennessee. As several more rounds of showers develop across the mid state over the next few days, many places will see between one and two more inches of rainfall.

The Cumberland River at Clarksville is currently at 35.68 feet as of 5:30pm, Thursday, March 12th. Flood stage is 46 feet.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that the heavy accumulations of snow and sleet from Wednesday night and Thursday morning will continue to result in hazardous driving conditions around the Clarksville-Montgomery County area as well as the mid-state today.

While the sun will be out in full strength, temperatures will only top out in the low to middle 30s.

Clarksville – Montgomery County under Winter Storm Watch starting Wednesday at noon

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee starting at noon Wednesday and continuing through noon Thursday.

A strong upper level low pressure system will bring plenty of rain on Tuesday followed by mixed precipitation and finally snow later in the day Wednesday. High temperatures in the 60s for most of the region tomorrow will fall to highs in the 20s by Thursday following the passage of a strong cold front.

A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow is expected late afternoon Wednesday for Clarksville-Montgomery County.

A strong upper level low pressure system will bring 1 to 3 inches of rain to the region. With the highest amounts north and west of Nashville.

Clarksville – Montgomery County under Flood Advisory until late this afternoon

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood advisory for rain and melting snow for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee until 3:00pm CST Saturday, February 21st.

An area of low pressure will move through the lower Mississippi River and Ohio River valleys this weekend bringing widespread rain anywhere from 2 to locally 4 inches to much of mid south. The rain will fall on top of ice and snow.

Some roads in low lying areas may flood today.  Never drive through flood waters.
