TWRA reports Fall Turkey Harvest stands at more than 1,400

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Tennessee turkey hunters recorded 1,464 harvests during the two-week 2014 fall turkey season which was held in October.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency reports that the 2014 fall harvest stands at 1,464. The harvest is 165 less than the 1,628 harvested during the 2013 fall season. Fall turkey hunting was allowed in 78 of the state’s 95 counties this fall. «Read the rest of this article»

Austin Peay State University’s Grant Leaver, Ed Bunio, Bob Bradley selected for APSU Athletic Hall of Fame

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – One of the greatest golfers in the Governors illustrious history plus a former football standout who returned to his alma mater to help coach the program to its only Ohio Valley Conference title have been selected to Austin Peay State University Athletics Hall of Fame.

In addition, a former superb basketball player from Austin Peay’s small college era was selected to the Hall of Fame as part of it Honors category.

Grant Leaver, a two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference honoree who won five individual championships and played in the 2008 NCAA East Regional; Ed Bunio, a two-way player who was an All-OVC offensive tackle for the 1964 8-1-1 club and later was the architect for 1977 Governors’ championship defense, have been elected to APSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, Bob Bradley, who was a key member of two College Division NCAA teams in 1960-61, was chosen as this year’s honors inductee.

National Weather Service reports Wintry Weather possible for Clarksville-Montgomery County Sunday morning

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service says a wintry weather is possible Sunday morning and likely Sunday night and Monday morning for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee.

As unusually cold weather continues across the region, an approaching low pressure system will bring the potential for wintry weather. The first chance for wintry weather will move in early Sunday morning.

This precipitation is expected to be in the form of light sleet but should present no travel problems. Warmer air will bring a change to all rain for the daytime Sunday.

National Weather Service reports Wintry Weather possible for Clarksville-Montgomery County Saturday and Sunday night

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service says there will be two chances for wintry weather this weekend and while the first likely will not amount to much,  the second might put a crimp in the Monday morning commute.

Late Saturday night into the morning hours on Sunday, a mixture of light rain, sleet and snow is possible over the extreme Northwest counties of Middle Tennessee and the highland rim. Some very minor accumulations are possible, but no impacts are expected. «Read the rest of this article»

National Weather Service issues Freeze Watch for Clarksville Montgomery County this Weekend

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a freeze watch for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as parts of Middle Tennessee.

The watch is in effect from late Friday night through Saturday morning. A freeze watch has also been issued from late Saturday night through Sunday morning.

Overnight lows Friday night will get down to the upper 20s to around 32 for most of the area. Saturday night lows will be a bit colder from the mid 20s to around 30.

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a frost advisory for Clarkville-Montgomery County as well as parts of Middle Tennessee.

Patchy frost is possible late tonight and early Thursday morning.

National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Clarksvillle-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a flash flood watch this morning until Tuesday afternoon for all Clarksville-Montgomery County and Middle Tennessee.

Periods of showers and thunderstorms over the past several days have caused the ground to become nearly saturated for many locations in Middle Tennessee.
