Nashville Predators lose to Anaheim Ducks 5-1 Wednesday night

 

Nashville PredatorsAnaheim, CA – The Anaheim Ducks came out fast scoring two goals Wednesday night before the Nashville Predators got off their first shot. The Ducks went on to beat the Predators 5-1 at the Honda Center.

It was Anaheim’s seventh straight win at home.

Nashville Predators assign forward Brian McGrattan to Milwaukee Admirals

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that forward Brian McGrattan has cleared waivers and been assigned to the Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

McGrattan, 31 (9/2/81), went scoreless and posted four penalty minutes during a two-week conditioning stint with Milwaukee from February 15th-24th.

Nashville PredatorsNashville, TN – The Nashville Predators have boarded a plane for the West Coast, and will play the Anaheim Ducks, Wednesday night, 9:00pm CT, at the Honda Center. The Predators are coming off of a thrilling, action packed, over-time thriller vs. the Dallas Stars on Monday night at the Bridgestone Arena, 5-4.

Roman Josi posted the first four-point outing (2g-2a) of his career on Monday night, as he beat Christopher Nilstorp 28 seconds into overtime to give the Predators the 5-4 win over Dallas. He posted the Predators second goal of the game and added assists on back-to-back goals for Nashville.

Nashville Predators lose to Anaheim Ducks in Shootout 3-2

 

Nashville PredatorsAnaheim, CA – In the third round of the shootout, Predators’ David Legwand lifts a shot up that is deflected off the glove of Duck’s goaltender Viktor Fasth and into the air. Viktor is able to gather the puck in to seal a 3-2 shootout win over Nashville for Anaheim at the Honda Center.

Anaheim’s Corey Perry went wide to the right, then swooped in to the middle, hit a wrist shot to the short side and past Pekka Rinne’s glove in the second round to give the Ducks a 1-0 advantage in the shootout. «Read the rest of this article»

Nashville Predators to face the Anaheim Ducks Saturday

 

Nashville-Predators-logoNashville, TN -  The Nashville Predators are hoping to shake off their lackluster performance against the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night, as they face the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.

This marks the third stop of a franchise record tying seven-game road swing; the Predators also played seven straight on the road from October 30th-November 12th, 2002. The trip will last 15 days, and see the team go to Minnesota, St. Louis, Anaheim, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Jose, then back to St. Louis to wrap things up on February 5th.  Nashville’s next game in the Music City will be February 7th against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings. «Read the rest of this article»

In their last meeting on December 10th in Nashville, Anaheim jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 38 second into the second period. Nashville would respond with three consecutive goals, Nick Spaling, Roman Josi – who scored his first career goal – and Jordin Tootoo all tallied for the Preds. Nashville PredatorsLos Angeles, CA – Saturday night, the Nashville Predators and Los Angeles Kings close out their season series at Staples Center.  The Predators are 22-23-(3)-3 all-time against the Kings, including a 13-9-(0)-3 mark in Tinseltown.  Los Angeles is the only team the Preds have a winning record against on the road but a losing record against at home (9-14-(3)-3).

These teams met 11 days ago in Nashville as the Kings took home a 5-4 win.  Patric Hornqvist scored two goals on the night, becoming the first Predators draftee to post at least 20 goals in three straight seasons for the team.  Martin Erat and Sergei Kostitsyn both added goals for the Predators, while Andrei Kostitsyn – who notched his second multi-point effort in as many games – and Ryan Suter added two assists. «Read the rest of this article»
