National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service reports that a surface pressure gradient will become better established across Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as Middle Tennessee as the day progresses Sunday, January 31st.

Breezy sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected with occasional gusts to 30 to 35 mph especially for locations in an area along and west of the I-65 corridor and along and north of the I-40 corridor.

Occasional gusts to around 40 mph or slightly higher may be possible.

Clarksville-Montgomery County expected to see 6 to 10 inches of Snow

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a winter storm warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as most of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the far southern counties of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning.

It is currently snowing in Clarksville-Montgomery County with 18 MPH winds out of the North. It is 26°F outside and the high today will be 32°F. Power lines are covered in ice from freezing rain early this morning. Some trees, limbs and power lines may be knocked down creating scattered power outages in the area.

First Snowfall expected tonight for Clarksville-Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) says the first snowfall of 2016 likely in Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as parts of Middle Tennessee tonight as light to moderate rains move through the mid-state tonight.

Cold air is expected to close in quickly. This will cause the rain to change over to snow leaving many spots in Middle Tennessee with their first snowfall accumulations of the year. Snow accumulations are going to be tricky.

Expectations are that counties in far northwest Middle Tennessee, closest to the Tennessee River and Kentucky are going to see the brunt of this system.

Clarksville can expect Strong Winds Tonight and Tomorrow

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports a powerful storm system will approach Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as Middle Tennessee tonight. A tightening pressure gradient will cause southeast winds to increase to 15 to 25 mph with a few gusts up to 35 mph by this evening.

You can expect moderate to heavy rain to settle in over the area for at least 3 to 6 hrs. Ponding of water will be likely and motorists should slow down and avoid crossing areas where water covers the road. Many areas will likely see between one and two inches of rainfall.

Motorists Advised to Plan Ahead

Clarksville Montgomery County area TDOT Maintenance Work starting July 25th, 2015

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that on Saturday, June 26th from 7:00am-3:00pm I-24 eastbound will be closed at MM 8.0 for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured utilizing the on- and off-ramps at SR 237 (Rossview Road). The bridge over I-24 will be also closed to allow interstate traffic to maintain flow across the ramps.

This is part of the bridge replacement project over Interstate 24 (Exit 8) on State Route 237.

The storm prediction center in Norman, OK has placed locations generally around and northeast of a Erin to Franklin to McMinnville line in an enhanced risk for severe thunderstorms.
