Clarksville, TN – Six contests against Atlantic Coast Conference foes highlight Austin Peay State University’s 2017 baseball schedule presented by head coach Travis Janssen, Wednesday.
After opening the season at Raymond C. Hand Park with the Riverview Inn Governors Challenge, the Governors will travel to ACC tournament champion North Carolina State for a three-game series during Week 2 (February 24th-26th) of the schedule.

Louisville, KY – The Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team competed at the 2016 Louisville Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday hosted by Louisville.
In the D singles flight, James Mitchell reached the semifinals after opening play with a pair of wins – he was the only Gov to advance past their second match. Mitchell started with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Matthew Momper from Bellarmine.

Charleston, IL – Fresh off a bye week, the Austin Peay State football team returns to action with its first Ohio Valley Conference road trip of the season at No. 16/18 Eastern Illinois at 1:00pm Saturday, September 24th at O’Brien Field.
Saturday’s game marks the 16th meeting between the two programs with a series history dating back to 1958.

Knoxville, TN – The 2015 calendar shuts for Tennessee basketball when it takes on Tennessee State on Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena in the final pre-conference contest for both programs. The Volunteers and Tigers tip off at 1:00pm ET (12:00pm CT) on the SEC Network.
The Vols (6-5) are facing its second in-state foe in as many games, coming off a 76-67 win over ETSU last week. A battle throughout, Tennessee trailed the Buccaneers by four with less than five minutes to play. What followed was a 15-2 Tennessee run — including a 9-0 spurt over the final two minutes — to seal the victory and keep the Vols a perfect 6-0 at home this season.

After a three-game road swing—where Austin Peay has not won since 2010—the Govs are back in front of the home fans against a winless Eastern Illinois squad facing its first 2015 Ohio Valley Conference opponent.

Clarksville, TN – For Austin Peay State University football team, Saturday’s visit to Eastern Kentucky doesn’t just herald the beginning of Ohio Valley Conference play, although the 5:00pm (CT) contest will be the first OVC game on APSU’s 2015 slate.
It also signals something of a reprieve for Austin Peay after back-to-back contests against FBS schools, although in facing the Colonels, ranked 21st in the latest FCS Coaches poll and 18th by the media, the Governors see a foe interested not only in maintaining its ranking but improving its postseason chances and mounting a challenge to prohibitive OVC favorite Jacksonville State.

Jacksonville, AL – Austin Peay State University’s football team has played four ranked Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams in 2015.
Prior to Saturday, the Govs faced No. 14/17 Chattanooga, No. 22/23 Illinois State and No. 18/19 Eastern Kentucky earlier this season. But none has been better than No. 5/5 Jacksonville State, the first Top 10 team the Govs faced this year.
