Tennessee Department of Transportation - TDOTNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) reports that on Saturday February 27th, from 7:00am-3:00pm, I-24 Westbound will be closed at MM 8 (SR 237) for bridge construction. Traffic will be detoured using the SR 237 ramps. SR 237 (Rossview Road) will also be closed at this location.

This is part of the bridge replacement project over Interstate 24 (Exit 8) on State Route 237.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery County and the northern half of Middle Tennessee today, February 14th through early Monday morning.

A weather system moving in from the west will spread a wintry mix of snow, sleet and some freezing rain across areas generally along and north of Interstate 40 Sunday and Sunday night before changing to rain.

2 to 3 inches of Snow possible Sunday for Clarksville-Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) reports very cold air will be in place across Middle Tennessee on Sunday as an approaching storm system causes precipitation to develop.

Light snow will start across the northwest counties Sunday morning, then the precipitation will increase in coverage and intensity across the entire mid state Sunday midday and afternoon. Most locations will see snow, except the far southern counties along the Alabama border, where rain will fall.

Travel could become hazardous Sunday afternoon, especially for areas north of Interstate 40, where freezing surface temperatures are more likely.

Tennessee State Trooper makes Traffic Stop and finds huge amount of Crystal Meth

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s East Bureau Interdiction Plus Team (IPT) initiated a traffic stop that led to the discovery of 13 kilometers (equal to 29 pounds) of crystal meth, and the arrest of a Texas man on felony drug charges.

Trooper Scott stopped a 2003 Chevy Suburban for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 eastbound in Knox County at approximately 3:40pm on Monday, February 1st, 2016.  The vehicle was occupied by a male driver, who gave multiple conflicting stories regarding his travel destinations.

Windy conditions expected across Clarksville-Montgomery County through the afternoon hours today

 

National Weather ServiceClarksville, TN – The National Weather Service reports that a surface pressure gradient will become better established across Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as Middle Tennessee as the day progresses Sunday, January 31st.

Breezy sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected with occasional gusts to 30 to 35 mph especially for locations in an area along and west of the I-65 corridor and along and north of the I-40 corridor.

Occasional gusts to around 40 mph or slightly higher may be possible.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a travelers advisory for Clarksville-Montgomery county, Stewart County and Western Middle Tennessee through Sunday morning.

Major travel problems will continue across Western Middle Tennessee through at least noon on Sunday. Thus, it is recommended that you only travel if absolutely necessary and if you do, exercise extra caution while driving at a reduced speed and leave plenty of time to get to your destination.

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville has issued a winter storm warning for Clarksville-Montgomery County as well as most of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning. A winter weather advisory is in effect for the far southern counties of Middle Tennessee through Saturday morning.

It is currently snowing in Clarksville-Montgomery County with 18 MPH winds out of the North. It is 26°F outside and the high today will be 32°F. Power lines are covered in ice from freezing rain early this morning. Some trees, limbs and power lines may be knocked down creating scattered power outages in the area.
