Austin Peay State University Lady GovsJacksonville, AL – Kayla Davidson’s single into short center field in the top of the eighth inning proved to be the game winner, as Austin Peay State University’s softball team split its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon, winning the nightcap 4-2 after falling 6-0 in the opener.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball drops road game against Jacksonville State Gamecocks 81-74

 

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Basketball

Austin Peay State University GovernorsJacksonville, AL – Despite shooting 55 percent from the floor and out-rebounding its first Ohio Valley Conference opponent this season, Austin Peay State University lost for the fourth straight time when the Govs fell to Jacksonville State, 81-74, Thursday night in Pete Mathews Coliseum.

The loss drops APSU to 5-16 overall and 1-6 in the OVC, remaining winless on the road. JSU, meanwhile, is 13-7 overall and 5-4 in the OVC.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsJacksonville, AL – Despite a record-setting performance by Jake Ryan, Austin Peay State University could not stave off a Jacksonville State comeback as it fell to the Gamecocks, 38-23, Saturday in Ohio Valley Conference play at JSU Stadium.

APSU fell to 1-9 on the season, 0-7 in the OVC while Jacksonville State Improved to 6-4 and ended OVC play at 5-3.

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsJacksonville, ALAustin Peay State University’s volleyball team saw its offense evaporate in the final two sets of a four-set Ohio Valley Conference loss (23-25, 29-27, 12-25, 26-28) to Jacksonville State, Friday night, at Pete Mathews Coliseum.

Austin Peay (2-14, 0-5 OVC) lost its ninth-straight outing while being held below a .200 attack percentage for the fourth consecutive match.

Belmont University to join the Ohio Valley Conference

Ohio Valley ConferenceBrentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference announced on Friday that Belmont University has been admitted to the Conference and will become the league’s 12th member. The move was approved by the OVC Board of Presidents.

Belmont will officially become a member of the OVC on July 1st, 2012 and its athletic teams will begin competing in the Conference in the 2012-13 season.

Austin Peay State University GovernorsEdwardsville, IL – Austin Peay’s baseball team will spend its off week from Ohio Valley Conference play with a three-game non-conference series at SIU Edwardsville – a future OVC opponent. Due to the upcoming Easter holiday, the series will begin with a 6:00pm, Friday contest followed by a 1:00pm, Sunday doubleheader.
