Clarksville City Council Ward 2 and Ward 3 Town Hall Meeting April 2nd, 2013

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Councilman for Ward 2 Deanna McLaughlin and Councilman James Lewis for Ward 3 will hold their next Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at Park Lane Church of the Nazarene at the corner of South Jordan and Cunningham Lane.

Parking is on the West Side of the Activities Building.

The Guest this month will be Mike Baker from the Clarksville Building and Codes Department.

World War II Veteran Honored in Ceremony

Clarksville,TN – Friends and family gathered on Friday to honor George Kazuo Nishimura, who was a member of the famed 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Military Intelligence Service.

Sponsored in part by F&M Bank and Clarksville Online, the ceremony was to present Nishimura with a bronze replica of the Congressional Gold Medal that had been awarded to his unit in 2010, in a unanimous vote of Congress, and approved by President Barack Obama.

Nishimura was left off of the list of veterans to receive their recognition due to a field promotion he received while serving his country, and a change in his serial number.  Through the efforts of friends and family, Nishimura received his award and was given his place in history on Friday.

Clarksville City Council Regular Session Recap for January 3rd, 2013

Clarksville TN – The 2013 edition of the Clarksville city council was sworn in this week. They also held their first official meeting of the year. So what’s new?

Not much.

Voters had real opportunity to make change this past November, but as we’ve seen, we say we want change, but we’re not willing to vote for it. It’s a real curiosity to me that with all the complaining, and the obvious need for something to change, the voters just don’t seem to care. Chili Cook Off to be held by City of Clarksville Departments to Benefit United Way
