Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – This week the Tennessee Titans (2-12) travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-12) in a nationally-televised game. Kickoff at EverBank Field (capacity 67,297) is scheduled for 7:25pm CST on Thursday, December 18th.

The Titans are looking to sweep the season series with the Jaguars for only the fifth time in the 20-year-old rivalry. They won the October 12th matchup at LP Field, which extended their lead in the all-time series to 23-17, including playoffs.

Tennessee Titans outgunned by Houston Texans 45-21

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Houston Texans (6-6) jumped all over the Tennessee Titans (2-10) Sunday rolling on to a 45-21 win. The Texans had the game well in hand at the half, up 24-0.

Former Titan quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a career day for Houston connecting on 24 of 33 pass attempts for 358 yards, a Texan franchise record 6 touchdowns and a passer rating of 147.5.

Fitzpatrick led Houston down the field on the opening drive where he connected with tight end Ryan Griffin for an 8 yard touchdown.

Tennessee Titans lose to Washington Redskins 19-17 in final seconds

 

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – With three seconds remaining in the game, Washington Redskins’ (2-5-0) kicker Kai Forbath made a 22 yard field goal as time expired to give the Skins a 19-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans (2-5-0) at FedExField.

With 5:32 remaining in the game, the Titans defense forced the Redskins to punt giving their offensive a chance to close out the game. However, center Brian Schwenke gets called for illegal use of hands pushing Tennessee back 10 yards. Three plays later, the Titans punt the ball back to the Redskins.

Tennessee Titans dominate Kansas City Chiefs, 26-10

The Titans new 3-4 defense gave the Chiefs fits all day. Tennessee zeroed in on Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles limiting him to 34 yards total. The Chiefs were held to 3 first half points.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – A year after fielding the 27th-ranked defensive unit in the NFL, the Tennessee Titans finished 14th in the NFL in 2013 and were 11th best in defending the pass. On third down, the defense allowed conversions on only 34.3 percent of plays, which was good for seventh in the league.

Helped by a consistent secondary that featured cornerbacks Jason McCourty and Alterraun Verner, as well as Bernard Pollard and Michael Griffin at safety, the Titans’ 15 touchdown passes allowed were the least in the NFL. «Read the rest of this article»
