Rivers and Spires named Best Festival at Southeast Festivals and Events Association Conference

 

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival is pleased to announce that they were the recipient of two Gold Awards at the Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA) Conference this past week in Auburn, AL.

The Festival won Gold Awards for being the “Best Festival With A Budget Over $75,000” and for the “Best Creative Idea”. The 2012 Festival Media Kit was submitted for the creative award.

Go Commando Half Marathon donates $40,000 to Local Organizations

 

Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – The Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k presented by CDE Lightband announced Thursday they would donate $40,000 to local non-profits and community organizations. The largest recipients, Clarksville Area YMCA and Fort Campbell Historical Foundation were on hand to accept the donations.

2011 Go Commando winner offers advice for Runners

 

Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – Nearly a year ago, Daniel Hazelton crossed the finishline at the Go Commando Half Marathon powered by CDE Lightband and became the first winner of this annual event. Now, Hazelton offers training tips and advice to all those who plan to Go Commando on October 20th, 2012.

A seasoned runner, Hazelton had already participated in countless other races prior to the Go Commando Half Marathon on October 15th, 2011. While training for the 2011 race, he was also preparing for the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C. Go Commando Half Marathon Team will raise Money for Soldiers, PTSD

 

Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 20th runners will take to the streets during the second annual Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k. A special segment of these athletes will be racing for a cause, to raise awareness of the struggles surrounding PTSD and combat stress.

The Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k powered by CDE Lightband will join the non-profit organization Not Alone in raising awareness of combat stress and PTSD and encourage runners to consider joining Team Not Alone as they prepare for the 2012 race.

Rivers and Spires Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a Bang

 

Rivers and Spires Festiveal 2012 - 10 yearsClarksville, TN – The final day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival on Saturday opened with unseasonably cooler weather to the point of being really chilly.  Warm coats, hats, and/or gloves were the order of the day.  Turnout started out slow, and might have been a little bit depressed over all from previous years as a result, but the people who did come out had a really great time!

Arriving around 11:00am, I found dribs and drabs of people mostly scattered around the various stages. As the morning progressed the numbers steadily increased. Go Commando Half Marathon and 5kClarksville, TN – The Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k presented by CDE Lightband announced Tuesday they would donate $35,000 to local non-profits and community organizations. The largest recipients, Clarksville Area YMCA and Fort Campbell Historical Foundation were on hand to accept the donations.

“The intention of the Go Commando Half Marathon and 5k will always be to give back to the community; this money emphasizes that mission in a big way,” Channel Lemon, one of the Race Directors, stated.

Clarksville Montgomery County Convention and Visitors BureauClarksville, TN – Tickets for the 2012 Miss Tennessee USA and Miss Tennessee Teen USA pageant are on sale now through the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
