Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference race by the league’s coaches and sports information directors, the league announced at its annual media day, Tuesday, at the Millennium Maxwell House. Senior guard Whitney Hanley was named to the league’s preseason all-conference squad.

Lady Govs survive Murray State, advance to OVC Tournament quarterfinals

Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team survived a long second-half drought before downing Murray State, 71-64, in the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Championships first round, Wednesday at Municipal Auditorium.
Fifth-seeded Austin Peay (14-17) built a 19-point, 48-29, lead with 18:30 remaining in the second half. But that advantage nearly proved to be not large enough as the Lady Govs offense cooled off and then went cold later in the period.
 Brooke Faulkner hits a two pointer againest Murray State as Austin Peay goes on to win in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Women's Basketball Championships. Faulkner tied a career high 20 points in the victory.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team fended off a second-half Murray State charge to post a 69-59 victory in Ohio Valley Conference play, Saturday night, at the Dunn Center.
Austin Peay (9-16, 8-5 OVC) carried a five-point, 33-28 lead into halftime. Murray State (6-17, 2-10) scored the half’s first six points on consecutive three-point field goals by junior Mallory Shawab and grabbed its first lead, 35-34, just 1:30 into the half.
 Junior Whitney Hanley scored 19 points in the Lady Govs victory against Murray State, Saturday.

Lady Govs host Murray State on “Red Zone” night at the Dunn Center

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay women’s basketball team continues its three-game homestand when it hosts Murray State in a 5:15pm, Saturday, Ohio Valley Conference contest at the Dunn Center. The game is “Red Zone” night presented by Wendy’s at the Dunn Center with Lady Govs fans wearing red receiving discounted admission for the night’s doubleheader.
The Lady Govs returned to the Dunn Center in victorious fashion, posting a 69-61 come-from-behind victory against UT Martin, Thursday. Austin Peay outscored the Skyhawks, 47-27, in the second half to rally from a 13-point deficit. It was the largest deficit overcome in a victory by APSU this season. Austin Peay shot 56.7 percent (17-of-30) from the field in the second frame, including 5-of-10 from three-point range.

Lady Govs end four-game skid, win at Murray State

Murray, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team dismissed a slow start and ended a four-game losing streak with a 71-55 Ohio Valley Conference victory against Murray State, Saturday afternoon, at CFSB Center.
Murray State (4-11, 0-5 OVC) got off to a hot start, making seven of their first nine field goals and scoring the game’s first 12 points and led 14-2 with 14:07 remaining in the first half. Austin Peay (5-13, 4-2) missed its first nine field goals, only breaking through on freshman Nicole Olszewski’s layup at the 14:21 mark.

Staggering Lady Govs seek to right ship at Murray State

Murray, KY – Austin Peay women’s basketball team will seek an end to its four-game losing streak when it meets Murray State in a 1:15pm, Saturday contest at CFSB Center.
The Lady Govs have lost each of their four games since returning from the Christmas Break. That streak includes Thursday’s 78-54 loss at UT Martin, which saw Austin Peay shooting just 30.3 percent from the field. The Lady Govs trailed by just five points at halftime, but scored only 26 points in the second frame while making 9-of-34 (26.5 percent) of their field goals.
