Glendale, AZ – The Nashville Predators had no answer for the Phoenix Coyotes defense as they get shutout Monday night 4-0 at Jobing.com Arena. The Predators fall to 1-2-3 for the season.

Nashville Predators visit Phoenix Coyotes

Nashville, TN – The road woes continue for the Nashville Predators, as their extended road trip lands in Phoenix, Monday night.

The Predators and Coyotes meet for the first time since their five-game Western Conference Semifinal series in the 2012 Playoffs, a series Phoenix won behind timely scoring and outstanding goaltending from Mike Smith. The clubs split their 2011-12 regular season series, with Nashville claiming its two victories on Jobing.com Arena ice.

On March 12th, 2012, Nashville pulled out a 5-4 shootout win, and on November 3rd, 2011, Pekka Rinne – celebrating his 29th birthday – signed a seven-year contract in the afternoon, then capped off the day by shutting out the Coyotes, 3-0. Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators have seen some thrilling Game Fives over the past two playoff seasons. A little more than two weeks ago, Nashville downed Central Division rival Detroit Red Wings, 2-1, in Game Five of the 2012 WCQ. That victory gave the club its second playoff series win and second consecutive WCQ victory.

In Game Five of the 2011 WCS against the Vancouver Canucks, Joel Ward played the hero for Nashville as the team staved off elimination for the first time in franchise history. Glendale, AZ – The Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes close out their season series on Monday at Jobing.com Arena. The Predators have posted a road record of 10-13-2 against the Desert Dogs since the start of the 2003-04 campaign, while posting an overall record of 17-11-(1)-2 in the same span.

These teams last met on December 6th, as the Coyotes downed the Predators 3-2 in the Music City.  The teams traded goals through the first 52 minutes with Jack Hillen – who played in his 200th game – scoring in the opening period and Shea Weber adding a power-play goal late in the third to tie the game at two. Nashville, TN – Pekka Rinne made 35 saves, David Legwand dished out three assists, but it was the work of the Kostitsyn Brothers that drew the headlines working together on a pair of power-play goals as the Preds topped the Detroit Red Wings 3-2 at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday night.
