Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball wins Third Straight OVC Tournament Title with 6-3 victory over Eastern Kentucky Colonels

Jackson, TN — Austin Peay State University’s baseball team spotted Eastern Kentucky University an early three-run lead, May 25th at The Ballpark at Jackson, in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament championship game, but rallied to score the final six runs to win its third straight tournament title and a spot in the NCAA tournament field.

APSU Governors Baseball beats Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles 6-2 to reach OVC Tournament Finals

Jackson, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team earned a spot in its third straight Ohio Valley Conference championship game, May 24th at General’s Stadium, as the second-seeded Govs defeated top-seeded Tennessee Tech, 6-2.

The Govs (44-13) will face the winner of the May 25^th, noon, losers’ bracket final between Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee Tech, at 3:30pm.

Jackson, TN – Nationally-ranked Austin Peay State University’s baseball team continued its hot-hitting ways, pounding out 17 hits in a 13-4 victory against Eastern Kentucky, Thursday, in the second round of the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Baseball Tournament at The Ballpark at Jackson.

APSU Governors Baseball set to begin Second Round of OVC Tournament Thursday

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s nationally-ranked baseball team will put its program-record 12-game win streak on the line when it opens Ohio Valley Conference Tournament play with a 3:00pm, Thursday contest against an opponent to be determined.

APSU Baseball has record Six Govs earn 1st Team All-OVC honors

Jackson, TN – A program-record six Austin Peay State University baseball players were recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference’s best player at their respective positions, receiving first-team All-OVC recognition, Tuesday night, at the OVC’s Annual Baseball Awards Banquet.

In addition to the six first-team honorees, which broke the program record set in 1996, Austin Peay saw two players receive second-team recognition. The eight total honorees ties the program record set in 1996.

Austin Peay State University Baseball ends regular season with 16-5 win over SIU Edwardsville Cougars

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team defeated SIU Edwardsville 16-5, on May 18th at Raymond C. Hand Park, to sweep its three-game Ohio Valley Conference series versus the Cougars.

With the win, the 12^th in a row to end the regular season, the Governors earn a second place finish in the OVC regular season standings – which gives Austin Peay a first-round bye in the OVC tournament in Jackson, TN.

APSU Governors Baseball makes Final OVC Road Trip this weekend against UT Martin Skyhawks

Clarksville, TN – Following a six-day break for finals, Austin Peay’s baseball team returns to action when it travels to UT Martin for a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series scheduled to begin with a 6:00pm, Friday contest at Skyhawk Field.
