Eastern Kentucky Colonels eliminate Austin Peay Lady Govs Tennis at OVC Tournament

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Nashville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team was eliminated from the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament with a 4-3 loss to Eastern Kentucky, Saturday, at Centennial Sportsplex.
In both singles and doubles, the match came down to the final point. The Lady Govs won two of three doubles matches, but the Colonels won four singles matches to advance.

Morehead, KY – Austin Peay State University women’s team dropped its regular-season finale, 4-3, at Morehead State, Sunday afternoon.
Senior Vanja Tomic rebounded from Saturday’s loss with a straight-set win at No. 1 singles against Morehead State’s Alix Young.

Austin Peay Lady Governors Tennis falls to the Murray State Racers despite winning doubles
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team lost, 4-3, to Murray State, Thursday at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.
It was the Lady Govs second Ohio Valley Conference loss in three matches as well as their season’s first loss when winning the doubles point. Murray State, meanwhile, improved to 8-7 overall with a 3-0 OVC mark.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Tennis’ Jovana Karak clinches win over Louisiana-Lafayette
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Mobile, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team closed its Spring Break trip with a 4-3 win against Louisiana-Lafayette, Saturday.
Despite winning the doubles point, the Lady Govs need a come-from-behind win at No. 6 singles from freshman Jovana Karak to clinch the match. Karak dropped the opening set, but battled back to earn the deciding win.

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team returns to action with a pair of weekend matches against Belmont and Lipscomb, Friday and Saturday.
The weekend kicks off at 2:00pm, Friday, against future Ohio Valley Conference member Belmont before hosting Lipscomb, 11:30am, Saturday following the Govs and Lady Govs free tennis clinic at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts.

Austin Peay Lady Govs Tennis hosts the Southern Illinois Salukis Saturday
APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team opens a three-match home stand, noon, Saturday, against Southern Illinois at the Governors Indoor Tennis Center.
The Lady Govs are still searching for their first win as the young team has been dealt a tough season-opening schedule. Matches against ITA-ranked Vanderbilt, Memphis and Louisville allowed head coach Malik Tabet the opportunity to evaluate several newcomers. Over the past week, Austin Peay dropped matches to Samford and UAB.
