APSU Women's BasketballMartin, TN –  Austin Peay State University (APSU)women’s basketball team put together a furious fourth quarter rally, but could not overcome a lackluster first period, falling to UT Martin, 75-64, Saturday, at the Elam Center.

The Governors (7-8, 2-2 OVC) were down by as much as 22 in the third and cut the deficit to four late, but fell just short of an improbable rally.

APSU Governors student-athletes set department record with 3.15 GPA in Fall 2018

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) student-athletes set a department record with a 3.15 grade-point average for the Fall 2018 semester.

For the first time, Austin Peay student-athletes have posted a department-wide GPA of 3.0 or greater in three consecutive semesters. A record 209 student-athletes received academic recognition for the Fall 2018 semester, including 107 recognized on the dean’s list. It’s the third time 100 or more student athletes have been named to the dean’s list.

Instant Peay Play: New Year begins second season for APSU Governors Basketball

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – As the calendar changes over from 2018 to 2019 this week it also brings the beginning of basketball’s second season for the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Governors, as the men’s and women’s teams begin the Ohio Valley Conference part of their schedules.

The Govs will host Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State at the Dunn Center on January 3rd and 5th to open conference play with both teams needing to get off to a quick start with a four-game road swing following the opening weekend of OVC play.
