Kelly Clarkson Concert at Fort Campbell rescheduled for September 9th, 2012

 

Kelly Clarkson - StrongerMorale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – The Kelly Clarkson concert presented by the Air Force Reserve Tour for the Troops has been rescheduled for Sunday, September 9th, here at the Division Parade Field.

Stating safety concerns due to the weather, earlier this month the promoters for the Kelly Clarkson concert had decided to reschedule the concert for a later date.

The Air Force Reserve Band will begin rocking at 5:30pm and will be followed by the Rock 101 Band at 7:00pm. Kelly Clarkson takes the stage at 8:00pm.

Safety for the troops and families remains the top priority of the command of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, KY.

101st Airborne Division run kicks off 2012 Week of the Eagles

 

Thousands come out to cheer on the Troops

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – The “Screaming Eagles” of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) kicked off the 2012 Week of the Eagles and their 70th Anniversary at 6:30am, August 10th with a division run lead by Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division.

Family and friends were along the street at the Division Headquarters cheering the soldiers along. As they came by, you could hear the cadences the soldiers were running to.

The total number of soldiers taking part in the run was estimated at just over 20,000. It was a sight to behold.

Air Force Reserve to Present Multi-Platinum Singer Kelly Clarkson

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson will make a stop during her “Stronger” tour to bring her show to the Division Parade Field at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, when she headlines the Tour for the Troops presented by the Air Force Reserve August 13th.

Kelly Clarkson initially appeared on the public’s radar in 2002 when she won the first season of American Idol. She then went on to become an international pop icon, selling over 20 million albums worldwide and has received two Grammy Awards, two American Music Awards, two MTV Music Awards, and 11 Billboard Music Awards.

Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne Division gears up for Week of the Eagles 2012

 

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – “The 101st Airborne Division […] has no history, but it has a rendezvous with destiny,” Maj. Gen. William C. Lee told troops during an address August 19th, 1942. Since that historic day at Camp Claiborne, LA, the Screaming Eagles have had many a rendezvous with destiny, and this year the storied division and the Fort Campbell community will mark the 70th anniversary of the unit’s inception during the 2012 Week of the Eagles: A history of valor.

“Week of the Eagles is a time for 101st soldiers of the past and present to come together and reflect on the great legacy of the 101st Airborne Division,” said Maj. Gen. James C. McConville, commanding general of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). “This year is particularly significant because it coincides with the 70th anniversary of the division. We invite all soldiers, families and friends to participate and experience Week of the Eagles 2012.”

Fort Campbell KY, 101st Airborne DivisionFort Campbell, KY – “Did you see that!” screamed a Soldier while jumping out of his seat as he watched New York Giants’ wide receiver, Mario Manningham, make a game-changing catch late in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl XLVI.

The amazed fan was among the more than 500 people and fifty other Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), watching the championship game at Fort Campbell Morale, Welfare and Recreation’s The Zone, February 5th. He thought it was the place to be for the big game.
