Nashville, TN - The Nashville Sounds‘ losing streak reached eight on Saturday evening at The Dell Diamond, where Nashville lost, 8-6, to the Round Rock Express.
Second baseman Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 for the Sounds to raise his average to .366. He has reached base safely in all 23 of his games this season. First baseman Hunter Morris contributed a 2-for-3 effort and third baseman Stephen Parker extended Nashville’s longest active hitting streak to seven games with a single in the defeat.

Edwardsville, IL – This is Austin Peay’s first meeting with the Cougars. The Governors come in amidst a three-game winning streak to even its OVC record at 3-3. They are seeking their first league road win.
After scoring 80 points in a 15-point victory against Eastern Kentucky, the Govs ground out wins against Jacksonville State, 60-57, and Tennessee State, 69-63, the latter coming Monday night. The Govs placed four players in double figures, led by the inside duo of John Fraley (16 points) and Melvin Baker (15 points) as they combined for 11 of 19 shooting.

Clarksville, TN – Don’t look now, but a familiar name is quietly creeping up the OVC standings.
After starting 0-3 in the conference for the first time in 20 years, Austin Peay evened its conference mark Monday, using timely defense and persistent offense to defeat Tennessee State 69-63 in the Dunn Center.
Facing a decided height advantage against the long and lengthy Tigers, the Govs (6-13, 3-3 OVC) were outrebounded by the Tigers (10-10, 3-4 OVC) 38-29.

The Governors are coming off a tight victory Saturday. After owning a 10-point lead with 5:01 left, APSU needed a field goal and two free throws from Jerome Clyburn in the final 30 seconds to hold off Jacksonville State, 60-57.
