Charleston, IL- Senior Chantelle Grey won the 800m run for Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team on the final day of the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships at Lantz Arena, lifting the Lady Govs after a disappointing first-day showing.
The Lady Govs 44 team points placed them eighth overall. Southeast Missouri’s women scored 101 points to win the women’s indoor title over runner-up Tennessee State (95 points) and host Eastern Illinois (88 points).

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team heads north for the 2013 Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Eastern Illinois, at Lantz Arena, beginning at 1:30, Friday.
The two-day event marks the 28th year OVC squads have competed for an indoor championship.

Austin Peay Governors Basketball defeat Eastern Illinois Panters 71-64 to get first road win of the season

Charleston, IL – Anthony Campbell scored 24 points, including four second-half three pointers, and Chris Horton recorded a double-double as Austin Peay State University held off Eastern Illinois, 71-64, Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference basketball action in Lantz Arena.
The victory snapped an eight-game losing streak and put the Govs at 6-20 overall and 2-10 in the OVC. It also was the Governors first road win this season.

Edwardsville, IL – Austin Peay concludes its trip through Illinois with a 7:00pm, Monday contest at SIU Edwardsville, the league’s newest member. Both teams enter the contest following losses, Saturday. The Lady Govs suffered an 80-46 loss at Eastern Illinois while SIU Edwardsville fell to Murray State, 67-59.
It will be third meeting all-time between the two squads, Austin Peay winning at home during the 2008-09 season and SIU Edwardsville winning its home contest last season. The Cougars enter the contest fifth in the league standings but will not be eligible to participate in the OVC Tournament – one year remains on their transition to full NCAA Division I status.
