Nashville, TN – On Wednesday, May 1st, the Tennessee Titans announced the release of wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, safety Suaesi Tuimaunei and wide receiver Michael Calvin.
Hawkins at 5-foot-11 was acquired in the 2008 NFL Draft with a fourth round pick out of California. In 2012, he started once and played in seven games. He had five receptions for 62 yards. He was inactive for nine games. He had career highs in 2011 with 47 catches for 470 yards and a touchdown.
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans set out Sunday to finish their season on a high note. They did just that. With 2:14 left in the game, Josh Scobee’s onside kick went out of bounds giving the Titans the ball on the Jacksonville 49 yard line. Tennessee finished running out the clock when Collin Mooney took the ball up the middle with .34 seconds left.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans got the ball first in overtime. Starting on their own 20 yard line, the Titans took the ball down to the Detroit Lions 15 yard line in 13 plays. Rob Bironas kicked a 26 yard field goal to put the Titans on top 44-41.
After the ensuing kickoff, the Lions started on their own 22 yard line. After 8 plays, the Lions had fourth and one at the Tennessee 7. Lions coach Jim Schwartz decided to go for it instead of letting Jason Hanson kick the tying field goal. San Diego, CA – Antonio Gates may have been sidelined with sore ribs, but that did not slow the San Diego Chargers Sunday. Dante Rosario stepped in and had a career day fueling the Chargers to a 38-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Rosario scored twice in the first quarter. The first on a 11 yard pass from Philip Rivers and the second on a 4 yard pass. This put the Chargers up 14-0 over the Titans. Rosario ended the day catching four passes for 48 yards and three touchdowns. «Read the rest of this article»
