Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department teaching youth about law enforcement and life

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department is mentoring area youth who want to pursue a career in law enforcement. Law Enforcement Exploring is Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women 14 to 20 years old with an interest in a career in law enforcement.

This work-site based program, that is fully funded by donations, helps youth prepare for their future profession by experiencing fun-filled, hands-on activities. Learning for Life, which is a division of the Boy Scouts of America, focuses on the following five areas of emphasis: Career Opportunities, Leadership Experience, Character Education, Citizenship, and Life Skills.

Boy Scouts, CMCCS to co-sponsor Learning for Life Fun Day

 

The Boy Scouts of America, working with the Clarksville Montgomery County School System, will host a Learning for Life Fun Day at Billy Dunlop Park, 1930 E. Boy Scout Rd, Clarksville,  on September 19, 2008.

The Official Welcome and Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 10:00-10:30.  Closing ceremonies are scheduled at 13:20.  The activities and show are for gifted (learning disabilities) children.

Clarksville Police Officers will be on hand to talk with the children and demonstrate fingerprinting.
