Richmond, KY – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team settled for a split of its Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader at Eastern Kentucky, dropping the opener 2-1 before winning the nightcap 10-8, Friday at Turkey Hughes Field.

Cape Girardeau, MO - Starter Lee Ridenhour threw seven scoreless innings and Austin Peay State University’s offense scored nine unanswered runs en route to a 9-4 OVC series-opening victory against Southeast Missouri, Friday night at Capaha Field.

Austin Peay State University’s Anthony Bradley named Athlete of the Week

Clarksville, TN – Junior Anthony Bradley, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Bradley shot a four-under par 209 (69-68-72) to earn medalist honors at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate last week, his second medalist honor of the season, topping a field of 112 competitors. Bradley sank 10 birdies and an eagle during the two-day event, leading the Govs to a school-record fifth tournament title.

APSU Baseball beats Tennessee Tech 7-3 making coach Gary McClure the OVC all-time wins leader

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University baseball coach Gary McClure became the Ohio Valley Conference all-time wins leader — in his first attempt — Friday night at Raymond C. Hand Park, but more importantly the Govs continued their winning ways in conference play defeating Tennessee Tech, 7-3.
The win was the 777th for McClure — in his 26th season — as he breaks the tie with former longtime coach of Murray State, Johnny Reagan, who led the Racers from 1958 to 1993.

With the 11-week OVC regular-season race entering its fifth week, the second-place Governors sit just percentage points ahead of the third-place Golden Eagles.

Clarksville, TN – Lee Ridenhour took a different road to Austin Peay than many that have donned the red-and-white.
The fireballing right-hander stormed out of Shawnee Mission West (Kansas) High School and into a No. 3 starter role for Kansas as a freshman in 2009. He beat then-No. 21 Arkansas in his collegiate debut, dueled No. 1 Texas to a stand-still (six and two-thirds, two runs allowed in a no-decision) and defeated No. 9 Kansas State for his sixth win, the most for a Jayhawk frosh in 15 seasons.
