Embattled Clarksville Building and Codes Director resigns

 

Clarksville TN – In a story first reported by Clarksville Online, it has been learned that Clarksville Building and Codes Director Les Crocker submitted his resignation to mayor Kim McMillan today.  Crocker has been on paid administrative leave pending his termination.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan had told Crocker she intended to fire him.  Crocker was given an opportunity to dispute the mayor’s actions, but according to sources, chose to resign instead.  We have requested more information from McMillan’s office and will update this story as necessary.

Embattled Clarksville Building and Codes Director granted extension

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville TN – Embattled Clarksville Building and Codes Director, Les Crocker, has been granted an extension on the deadline set by Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to show why she shouldn’t fire him.

Crocker originally had until today to respond to the mayor.

Exclusive update: Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan plans to terminate Building and Codes director

 

City of ClarksvilleClarksville TN – This is an update of a story first reported by Clarksville Online.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan intends to terminate Building and Codes Director Les Crocker.  In a letter dated November 14th, 2012, McMillan notified Crocker in writing, of her plans for termination.

“The purpose of this letter is to notify you of my intent to terminate your employment with the City of Clarksville as Director of the Building and Codes Department.  It is anticipated that your discharge will take effect on Wednesday November 21st, 2012.  This action is being taken against you based on the following causes specified in City Code, Chapter 10, Section 1.5-1002 which are supported by the numerous deficiencies identified in the attached internal audit:

(b) Incompetence or inefficiency in performance of duties;

(p) Conduct which adversely affects the employee’s job performance or operation of the department in which they are employed;”

Clarksville Building and Codes Director placed on paid administrative leave

Investigation completed into grievances filed against Clarksville Building and Codes Director

Clarksville, TN – The final report has been delivered to the City of Clarksville into claims made by several employees of the Clarksville Building and Codes Department against it’s director, Les Crocker.

In a story first reported by Clarksville Online, Randal Mathews, Jenifer Rougemont, and Brigitte Papastathis all filed grievances claiming a variety of problems brought on by Crocker.

Grievances filed against City of Clarksville Building and Codes Director

Clarksville, TN – Three employees of the Clarksville Building and Codes Department have filed grievances against the director of the department, Les Crocker.  According to documents obtained by Clarksville Online, through a public records request, the grievances accuse Crocker of wrongful termination, harassment, unfair treatment, and allege that he did favors for friends and family.

Randall Mathews, Jenifer Rougemont and Brigitte Papastathis submitted their grievances to the Human Resources director, Will Wyatt who then sent them on to Clarksville City Attorney Lance Baker. «Read the rest of this article»

Clarksville Montgomery County Regional Planning Commission Employee files grievance against Planning Commission Member

Montgomery County, TN – An employee of the Regional Planning Commission, John Spainhoward, has filed a grievance against Mabel Larson, who is a member of the Regional Planning Commission appointed by Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers, after Larson allegedly threatened his job after accusing him of sending an email that accused  her of ethics violations.

The e-mail in question was sent from a Robert Goodman, on Thursday March 1st to various media outlets and Clarksville City Attorney Lance Baker. There is no Robert Goodman, it’s a fake name. «Read the rest of this article»
