APSU Baseball takes on Nationally Ranked Clemson this weekend

APSU BaseballClarksville, TN – Austin Peay’s baseball team will step out of Ohio Valley Conference play this weekend to face nationally-ranked Clemson in a three-game series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.

The three-game set, which can be seen on ACC Network Extra, is scheduled to begin with a 5:30pm (CT), Friday contest. The Governors and Tigers will continue the set with a 3:00pm (CT), Saturday matchup before concluding the series at noon, Sunday.

APSU Baseball romps over Lipscomb Bisons, 19-5

APSU SoftballClarksville, TN -Austin Peay State University right fielder Nick Walker and catcher Alex Sala each hit first-inning home runs to lead APSU’s baseball team back from a four-run deficit to post a 19-5 nonconference win against the Lipscomb Bisons, Tuesday night at Raymond C. Hand Park.

After Lipscomb scored four runs in the top of the first, APSU (29-20) replied by sending nine men to the plate in the bottom of the frame.

APSU BaseballEdwardsville, IL – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team fell behind early and could not catch up, dropping the final game of its Ohio Valley Conference series against SIU Edwardsville, 12-7, Sunday afternoon at Simmons Baseball Complex.

Austin Peay (28-20, 17-10 OVC) scored the game’s first run as shortstop Garrett Kueber hit his third home run of the season for an early 1-0 lead.

APSU Baseball’s Parker Phillips named OVC Player of the Week, Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week

APSU BaseballBrentwood, TN – A massive week at the plate catapulted Austin Peay State University first baseman Parker Phillips to adidas® Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week and Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week honors, Monday.

The Collierville, TN product gained plenty of attention during the week for his five-home run day, Friday, against Eastern Kentucky. Phillips opened the three-game OVC series against the Colonels with a home run in each of his first three at-bats, including a first-inning grand slam, before returning to hit two home runs in the nightcap.

APSU Women's Track and FieldClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University track and field hosts the annual APSU Invitational, a one-day event scheduled for a 10:00am, Friday, start at Fortera Stadium.

With inclement weather scheduled for Saturday, the traditional two-day format was altered in order to expedite a full Friday of competition.

Austin Peay State University Baseball gets blanked by Belmont, 4-0

APSU BaseballNashville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s baseball team could not break through in a pitchers’ duel and fell 4-0 to Belmont, Sunday afternoon, in Ohio Valley Conference action at E.S. Rose Park.

Despite the loss, Austin Peay (18-14, 9-6 OVC) claimed its fourth OVC series this season after winning the first two games of the series.
